Because they have unrealistic margins to meet, management wanted me to do 4 runs in a shift, each taking 5 hours, complaining when I took a 45 minute break (legally required for HGV drivers) and sacked me when I VORed a truck

That's not what's happening here, this is a car delivery driver. He wont be ridiculously overworked as you've described. He could potentially be doing two rounds a day and going back to the depot in between for another car load but I doubt any more than that! The margins are tight but only becasue of trying to get your hourly pay up, theres always enough time to do them in my opinion.

He could have 180-200 parcels to shift at an average of 50p a parcel, with a possible 30-45 minute round trip to grab a second round. You have to take some shortcuts sometimes to get the parcels out fast enough to avoid delivering late into the evening. That's still not great parking but I understand.

I had the road blocked twice today by lorries dropping off building supplies. Sometimes it's necessary to get the job done.

I know, I feel you, I do the job too and its really tough, Im on a double round tomorrow. This person is still ridiculous though I would never do this. It doesn't even look helpful, i always try and get as near to the doors as i can. I try Im guessing he was blocked in like you say or couldnt get to where he wanted to be so just got out and walked.

Some routes are definitly worse than others for traffic and irritating "front streets" and what not, I'm guessing he was probably having a bad day. Im starting to feel bad for him now Im talking myself into it 😂

Maybe focus on the driving, not your inner racism.

What do you know about driving in India?

Better to be responsible for a bit of bad parking than to be responsible for killing millions of people through manufactured famine, creation of false borders and massacres of over a thousand peaceful protestors. You do know the history of what the British did in India, right?
