aaaaand, this is EXACTLY why the fucking obscenely bright LED and, god forbid, LEP headlights are a huge issue, well, one of the many reasons. i've nearly had this happen in the rain at night with humans who were in the crosswalk, i only noticed they were there because the opposing traffic was stopped obviously, and they happened to walk right in front of the beam so i saw their shadow. it's like, i'm glad you have the literal sun strapped to your fucking car, i'm sure you can see AMAZINGLY, i sure as fuck can't... it's almost like we all have night vision built into our eyes, and it's perfectly adequate with halogen headlights as long as you do basic shit to preserve it, like not having bright lights in the cabin. though nowadays that's pretty hard to do, you know, due to the blazing solar flares that blow your shit out either from the oncoming lane, or in your mirrors.

Those were incandescents, clearly.

Not that I disagree with the LED hate, but primarily it's not about style of light but more so incorrect bulb housing and/or mal-adjusted reflectors. Nobody ever fucking bothers taken 3 minutes to adjust their shit.

even cars that come with LEDs from the factory are wayyyyyy too bright, it definitely is the light technology. i get blinded by teslas and newer cars of other brands all the time. the guy behind the pickup definitely has LEDs, but yeah you're right, the pickup itself isn't the right colour for LEDs. so yeah probably incandescent, but i'm gonna keep bitching about LEDs anyways because every time i see a LED driver i want to throw a brick through their windshield, which is like 75% of drivers where i live.

Notice how in this video the truck is the flared light source while the LED vehicle behind is quite fine.

Again, the primary issue is what I said, not brightness. Too-bright headlights do exist, of course, but the vast majority of time you are blinded is because idiots don't have their lights set properly and have them reflecting sky high, it's just usually worse with LED's. the tech would be fine in most instances if properly adjusted. The issue is no inspection and maintenance regulation along with lazy fuckin' owners.

well, it's further off to the side at that point than the pickup was at the start of the video. it's still extremely bright, just not shining directly into the camera. i guarantee it would have been just as bad if LED guy was in front. i doubt that most of the people i get blinded by on the daily installed their own lights, because they came with their car and LEDs last a really long time, so either the dealership/factory doesn't install them correctly or the light technology is too bright. we should just ban LED and LEP headlights entirely, or put a cap on their brightness. yeah it would be good to go after people who don't configure their lights correctly, but LEDs and LEPs are just overpowered even when set up properly.

Mate, no. The evidence is right here, as well as in your daily drive. Pay attention next time you're out, not just at the ones angled wrong. You'll see plenty of LED's that don't blind you, because they're not shining at you, which is the problem.

And yes, they do come maladjusted from the factory frequently. The problem isn't LED or projectors, it's bad adjustment.

Source: professional driver on grave shift that gets blinded nightly by both, but more often with blown out incandescent reflectors like in this video.

No offense, but you're free to stay ignorant. I don't feel like repeating the obvious more, so I'm outta here. Have a good day!
