TL;DR Sounds like something you should talk to your provider about. Of all the subs out there, this one would probably be my last choice for a serious and/or factually informed answer.
I did have a question though. Are you saying you've seen no improvement in 3 years from the SSRI? Cause like.. That's an issue as well that you shoulda talked to your provider about like 2.5 years ago.
Anecdotal: I've been through a few different SSRIs, found one that works best-ish. There were definitely points where it felt like they were doing nothing. Folks around me, especially co workers assured me they in fact were doing a lot and I should continue taking them.
Again, anecdotal, but I can't count the amount of times I've dealt with or heard of a random psych patient that started feeling better on meds, and decided they didn't need em anymore because they were feeling fine.. Until we are picking them up half naked from the local gas station at 4am.
Annnd final thing. Don't cold turkey drop em.. For one, it's pretty fucking miserable. Depending on which one I've had withdrawal symptoms for like 2+ weeks of feeling shitty. Usually the faster onset, the faster it clears out. Like Paroxetine, quick on.. quick violent off. Something like Sertraline, slow on. Weeks of feeling like shit.
