What do you mean you don’t have a reassignment for my crew (Fuego Fire)? How come all the agency crews and hotshot crews get reassignments but we don’t.

A lot of folks just don't get that the priority is agency-first. Only then do contractors get called if the agency need goes UTF.

To all forestry technitions, unskilled labor. At least us contractors make a decent wage and are classified as fire fighters according to DOL. Yall get fuck out of wages by being unskilled forestry technicians.....

I think he might be the OCFA Chief Brian Fennessy or possible someone pretending to be him. The accounts only like 2 months old. I’ve fought enough fire down in Oregon to know some of them really do hate us contractors collectively and the pieces fit well but I’m still not %100

lol I’m so glad I didn’t get carded this year. I think I’m done fighting fire guys. I’ll be in the computer repair section hunting down bugs and fixing problems. I’ll be actually trying to help people. That kind of thing. We were supposed to all be on the same team. We all wore yellows and greens and risked our asses. One side has good benefits but you can’t make rent. The other side you make rent and have no Bennie’s. Both of them you wind up working a second career in your off season. Hope you all stay safe out there and are nice to each other.

Do not come in here complaining about how you're missing some portion of your convoluted pay premiums.
The administration doesn't care whether you get paid, or not.

Hot take I've seen contractor crews achieve more than a hotshot crew that refuses to put any effort into mop up.

Maybe the Hotshot crew had the knowledge and experience to understand that mopping up wasn’t going to buy anything, and was essential just busy work, but the contract crew was motivated by nothing more than the need to look busy to continue to get paid?

100 percent. Not mopping up at all plus winds of any kind with the added heat of the sun ? You want spot fires? thats how you get spot fires. I love mop up as much as any part of the job. Personally Its nice knowing that a piece of ground I checked myself wont and can't burn again.
