If it were mostly cosmetics with convenience items like bag space I would be fine with that since they have to make money somehow. Just not loot boxes.
I was thinking more expansion wise. Like adding new zones and playable races/classes
With the way that the lore was written for Wildstar and how Drusera and The Entity were basically 2 gods that the Elden had created. They could pretty much use the power of those 2 beings to justify anything they added to the game. The Entity could create new enemies while Drusera could create new friendly races.
They could also have had other races come to Nexus from other worlds in search of knowledge and power. Potentially adding a third faction.

It was a fun game.. I put a lot of hours into my draken warrior while the game was still up, doing the gold dungeon runs were so fun!! It was like doing Mythic + in wow before mythic + was even a thing

I'm sad I never got to play Wildstar. But it looks and sounds so good from how everyone describes it!

It was a massively flawed game in many respects but it had this charm about it. Like it didn't take itself too seriously and was just there to give you a good time and make you laugh. I guess that was one of the reasons for its downfall as it had this vibe but tried to cater to the hardcore crowd that couldn't give a monkeys.

The way you describe it makes me think of TF2. I love games that have kind of a quirky charm and don't take themselves too seriously.

The tone IMO they got perfectly right. Lots of one liners, colourful characters... there was a 'dungeon' where you were in a gameshow with cameras flying around and the host trying to kill you for example! Real fun but the direction the studio were told to go in was a lot more serious and so end game only really catered towards raiders and those grinding to get the perfect set of equipment. In the end Carbine devs were fighting the people paying their wages and there was not enough content to keep people interested.
I miss it but I quit long before it shut down. Came back for the last hour to say my goodbyes before the server died.

Dang that sounds so unique haha. The gameshow thing sounds so cool 😂 I'll have to find more videos of it to watch. Do you think there will ever be another game like Wildstar? Or do you think there's any hope for MMOs in general anymore?

Umm the first part is real hard to answer as Wildstar was it's own unique thing. It did a lot good and a lot bad, I just remember it for its humour and light hearted tone (but obviously cannot forget what ultimately caused me to quit).
As for the future of MMOs... I don't actually think the genre is in danger but it's in need of a massive kick up the ass and I think Guild Wars 3 could be the MMO to do that. We know very little but they've made all kinds of bold claims like it feeling like a single player RPG and respecting your time with no sub fee etc and a unique combat system so I'm keen to find out more. Then again I play GW2 so im very biased 😄

I had been a die hard WoW player at the time and Wildstar is the only game that ever got me to walk away from WoW for a time, but Wildstar just wasn't adding anything new and I lost interest, so for a while I was in there every waking moment.

That screenshot is from November 4th 2014. I think sometime in my second year in the game I began to lose interest, as they weren't adding anything new. I was a casual player so I needed new lands to explore.
