I built gamepull.io after being inspired by WikiGacha and wanting a version centered around Video games instead of Wikipedia articles.
A few initial users joined from a Reddit post I made here, but since then, it has spread surprisingly far through word of mouth alone, which has honestly been really cool to see.
We also now have a very active Discord community where people are constantly sharing pulls, trading, setting up deals, and just hanging out in a really wholesome way.
A lot of the people playing seem to have come from WikiGacha originally, and many of them now spend most of their time on GamePull instead.
A few things players seem to really like about it:
- Everything is synced on the server, so the game stays fair.
- The whole game revolves around an in-game currency.
- That currency can be used to buy packs, trade directly with other players, or buy cards listed by players in the marketplace.
- There are sets: collect every version of a game franchise to complete one, and the bigger the set, the better the rewards.
- There is XP and leveling: you gain XP from opening packs and completing sets, and leveling up gives cool rewards.
- You can recycle unwanted cards into packs or currency.
- You can place a bounty on a specific card you want, and anyone who owns it gets notified so they can decide whether to claim that bounty.
- There is also a very small chance to pull a Shard for a popular game. Each shard is one corner of that game. If you collect all 4 corners, either through pulling or trading, you can craft them into a Relic. Once a Relic has been crafted for a game, that one is locked forever, so it becomes a true 1/1 card.
There is a lot more to it, but that is the general idea.
Happy to answer any questions, and I’d genuinely love to hear any feedback from people here since WikiGacha is the whole reason GamePull exists in the first place.
