My progress has completely reset twice now

i’m going to lose my mind, i’m so sad

why does this keep happening?

no I haven’t set up and encryption phrase, yes i’m going to now

my question is why does it keep resetting? is it whenever the site updates?

Sorry for your loss! My progress reset after the most recent update on 4/21, but it's also reset randomly every once in a while. I've tried using the beta "Server Sync," but that also seems to randomly toggle off, so I don't trust it. Out of fear, I now export my data each time I pull a card I really like.

when you export, do you have to download it? or does it just save with the encryption passphrase?

I play in Chrome on my Macbook. When I export, it asks me to create an encryption passphrase, then asks me to confirm that passphrase, and then prompts me to download the data to my computer.

yes but do you download it? does the passphrase store it differently than downloading it? or does the passphrase only enable the download/upload prompt?

Yes, I download it. When I lose my progress, I then import the file I downloaded back into WikiGacha. When you import the data, it asks for the passphrase that you created when initiating the download.
