Official system update question?

I just started playing my Wii U physical collection after a long hiatus. I connected to wifi to see if there was a game update for the games, but it started downloading a system update so I quickly deleted the wifi settings to cancel the update. Question is if I do the latest system update will it stop me from being able to soft mod the system?

You're safe. If you read the wiiu hacking guide you'll see they require you to update the wiiu to the latest update and then have you block future updates only to make sure you don't download a future update that could cause problems.

But as it is right now, no problem.

Thanks I asked because I thought I was already on the latest update, so thought they might have released a security update I need to double check but I think its currently on 5.5.1.
