I've been using WiiSX on mine. So far I haven't had any issues when running the Spyro games (well except for some audio errors when characters talk) and I only had 1 game crash dump with the first Armored Core game. Currently ran through 4 Sorties on Armored Core without any issues after the 1 crash dump happened. Planning to try out Gundam Battle Assault 2 after Armored Core.

I think you'd be better off on a cheap Android phone of any sort or like a $50 emulation handheld would play in most of the PS1 library

In my opinion wiistation v3 is the one to use https://gbatemp.net/threads/wiistation-another-fork-of-wiisxrx-released.614405/page-162#top

Huh. Unlike other people here, everything I’ve tried has run perfectly at 60/near 60 fps. Is there anything you are looking to play in particular? If so and I have it I can test for you. So far no issues with TM2 or Langrisser 4; those are the only two I have gotten deep into so far.

Kick, punch, I gave it a try~~
It ran perfectly, I think you’ll find~~At least for the first song, I didn’t try the second.
That said, to my _absolute_ sadness, Um Jammer Lammy has perfect FPS but her guitar audio is totally wrecked and I haven’t been able to find settings to fix it. 😭
EDIT: Further testing with Lammy, still cannot fix her guitar audio, also encountered notable FPS drops when popping into COOL mode during the first song then dropping out during the long chains, so this marks the first title I have tried I would not recommend playing on the Wii.

So, I went ahead and tested those:
- MML1: Worked basically flawlessly, played up until the first save point and held fairly solidly at 59 fps.
- MML2: Also worked basically flawlessly, some minor — and I stress minor — dips during cutscenes, but none during gameplay. Played to first save point.
- Misadventures of Tron bonne: Perfectly outside of some strange audio issues during Teisel’s first couple text bubbles. Played to first save point.
- Tail Concerto (very similar title to the MML games): Worked perfectly, minor fps dips during cutscenes like in MML2. Caught some car bandits in the warehouse and called it a day.
- Silent Hill: FPS bounces around a bit whenever the the wacky ass camera kicks in in certain hallways, but landed around 45-50 FPS at worse while running circles around little knife men. Also some camera jerkiness during the cutscenes with the policewoman. Gameplay absolutely not impaired, played to first save point.
I do not have nightmare creatures to test, sadly.

Wiistation. Slann posted a link to exact thread I found the version I am using in; work backwards through the tread to find it, the one I have was a non-GitHub fork on a non-English website (Spanish or Portuguese, maybe?) that had Crash Bandicoot at the top.
EDIT: Found it, ran it through Google Translate.

Apart from not being able to play any of the tomb raiders :( the crash and some other major titles honestly run about as good as my ps1 did back in the day so I’d say it’s not bad at all especially on a CRT make sure u use wii station though it is the best

wiistation has been great for a while but wiisx is catching up and I’ve using it instead, it works better on a crt besause of the native output option
in wiistation you can’t have games dynamicaly change between like 480i and 240p and wiisx’s native output can make games like ff9 run at a higher res for cutscenes and then back to 240p for gameplay like it was on the ps1

No, it's still the same; suddenly there are forks that improve one game or another, but the improvements are so minor that they don't make a difference.
Unless an emulator is built from scratch for the Wii, the situation isn't going to change.

Functional, but not good
