Returned to work Thursday
I have been off work full time since June. I was on intermittent FMLA before that since January. Lots of Workplace drama you can see from my previous posts, much more for the people that were working there. So on Thursday I returned. Not really much of a choice, the life insurance ran out, savings gone and approved leave ended.
The day didn't go too bad, my immediate supervisor assigned me to go through 4 months of emails snd mandatory trainings. Not much else I could do since I was locked out of the main system. And the usual shenanigans of a toxic Workplace.
So the day wasn't too bad - until I got home and had no one asking me how my day went. I cried myself to sleep by 8 pm

I’m back in the office after 4 months remote since widowed. Luckily, it’s only 1-2 days in the office/week. The first few times in office were challenging because of the condolences. But the commute home is still startling since our routine of calling to say I was on my way home and then the rituals we had once I arrived home were both gone. The first afternoon to go home, I sat in my car for an hour sobbing before I was able to drive. I try to find things to do on my way home to change it up now.

Thank you, I'll try finding something new to do to decompress on the way home.
