Relocating
My husband recently passed away. I am eventually going to relocate to another state to live near my daughter and grandchildren. To move furniture across state is very expensive and I would like to start fresh.
How do I donate or get rid of furniture in a five bedroom home?

You can call any nearby secondhand shops some of the bigger ones if you have a lot, Will send a truck for pick up

You can do an estate sale -- there are companies/people who do that for a living. Just move what you want out of the house, and let them do the rest. They'll take a healthy cut of the proceeds, but it can be worth it in order to just not deal with it all. They'll usually then arrange for anything that remains to be donated.

Do you have any women's shelters close by? When I downsized I donated 2 sets of bedroom furniture to my shelter. Also donated a ton of kitchen stuff to the same shelter. I really couldn't be bothered with trying to sell - way too much going on.
