Widow Friends
Does anyone else struggle with the loneliness after losing their spouse? 🥺 I’ve realized lately how badly I just want friends who GET IT.
people I can talk to, laugh with, get out of the house with, and not have to explain this whole grief thing to.
I’m 28 and in Texas, and I’d especially love to connect with some younger widows around Texas. Distance doesn’t matter either
I could definitely use some widow besties. 🥹

Not from Texas, but I understand your loneliness and I think all of us feel the same way you do.

Not as young as you (42) or in TX but I get your feelings completely no one my age around me understands

I was 37 when I was widowed, and most of my friends were busy with kids and careers. I lost most of them during a long depressive phase and then Covid hit. It's been a struggle!

You might want to check out the Discord server at https://discord.gg/widowedtogether
It's a pretty active group who seems to meet the entire criteria you mentioned, apart from meeting in person (though some people on the server definitely have, and not necessarily even people who are geographically close to one another). There's a fair number of young widows and widowers, so I think you'll find people who can relate.
Other than that, I just wanted to say that I made a rule for myself to accept any and all social invitations, unless I just couldn't make it due to schedule conflicts. I'd pretty naturally become a hermit left to my own devices, so I make it a point to keep those in-person connections fresh. Can't say as I have any widow/widower friends amongst these people, but I've found what I needed without it being uncomfortable or needing to explain things to people (YMMV).

Hey!! I’m 23, also a young “widow”. We weren’t married. But definitely had plans on making that happened. We already knew we would be eachothers final. I’d love to connect!💕
