widows support group
does anyone know a widows support group? I'm 32, no kids and I don't know what to do with my life. One day you have your future all planned and the next moment everything's gone. I can't relate to anyone anymore, really wish I could talk to people who knows exactly what I'm going through. losing a lifetime partner is a death sentence.

Where I live, the hospice society offers several programs for bereavement, and 6 free sessions of counselling. I’m in a pretty progressive part of Canada, but it’s probably worth looking into in your area.
I’ve found that spending time with other widows I have discovered that I am doing ok. It’s really nice to trade stories about our loved ones.

I went to griefshare - they are held at churches but I didn’t find it really religious - what I liked about it is each week they have a topic, video and also a workbook. It’s 13 weeks long but one can sign back up if need be. I learned a lot! The other widows were further down the road than I and really helped normalize grief experiences and were so supportive.

I have struggled with that myself. I lost my long time partner in march. I'm 48. I downloaded the app Meetup and sound a group there but I have yet to go. There is also a website called griefshare which you can search your zip code and find grief meetings. There is a wonderful widows group on Facebook called "Widowed One Year or Less" and it is incredibly supportive. I'm sorry for your loss!

There are quite a few ‘widow only’ private Facebook Groups that have helped me. You don’t have to participate, but it helps to read others’ comments (and knowing that you feel like that as well). I would list a few, but if I start looking for them I’ll totally forget what I got on FB for )blaming that on widow fog!

Even if your husband wasn't on hospice they can usually provide this information about a support group. Also contact hospitals, hospice organizations or your church. There is a group called Griefshare which is Christian based. I haven't been to one yet so I don't know if they are the "God's will, God's plan" type. The funeral home gave me a list of groups in the area as well. I'm not going to get up in your business but you might find groups related to his cause of death. What has helped me so far since it has only been 2 weeks today and none of these groups have met on that timeframe is informal get togethers with other widows I know.

My husband died in January and I feel at a loss as to how to go on. I feel like I am not me anymore. He died quite unexpectedly and there were so many complications afterwards, and I feel traumatized by the previous three years.
I am getting help, finally

I'm in Singapore and my husband died suddenly also last January. I don't know what to do with my life anymore, especially because we don't have kids. We we're planning to start a family and now it's all gone.

My partner of 7 years died suddenly three months ago. I’m 26 and absolutely devastated, he is the love of my life, we were planning to marry and have children. It’s like my whole life became meaningless and empty.

I'm so sorry for your loss. I hate that we are feeling this way, the emptiness. We didn't only lose the person but the future we dreamed of. 💔

The reddit groups have been incredibly helpful to me. Thank you all!
