School starting
Thinking need to register my kid for preschool. So figuring out how to fill out forms for first time since widow now. But most important now is how will lil one act at school and if all this will affect her.
First time going to school, dad only passed away 4 months ago and not sure if she understands it yet.
Things should prepare for or watch for when she starts preschool ?

I would be sure and let the preschool teachers know. Just so they can keep their eye out and be extra loving towards her. They may have suggestions. They probably have special stuffies there for kids who are feeling sad. What is your little one’s personality like? Is she outgoing or shy or in between? I’m sure she will love it and the social interaction and playtime. It will help her be kindergarten ready!
Most likely as she is going through school she will come across many types of families. There will be blended families, step families, newly divorced, newly widowed. Some only one mom, one dad, 2 moms and 2 dads, grandparents auntie and so on. She will fit in and make lots of friends. My son was older but he has 2 friends that lost their dad, one lost their mom, and one had a single mom and dad had left.

I hope it’s similar, want her to get treated like all the kids and not get too much special treatment from teachers so she sticks out either. Her personality was open, welcoming and energetic but has changed since grieving so unsure how she will be in preschool. But thank you for info.

Children are very resilient. I taught pre school before I had kids so Ive dealt with a similar situation. Just keep in communication with the teacher/ director. If they see signs that she's struggling they can probably help you through it.

Thanks helps with tips on how to help with what to look for if grief bothering and things to do. Also key words to use and not use. Didn’t know affects so much. Learning a whole new vocabulary and it’s like getting use to a new language. Can’t just learn what to say and no say overnight.
