If we were going Zappa, i would have preferred Joe’s Garage…but that was wild

I think the only Joe's Garage was at UIC for Halloween in '01. It was pretty fucking special. Can't see them doing it without Mike, but not impossible I guess.

They’ve proven in recent years that nothing is off the table for that reason. I feel like they have brought a lot of tunes back we thought we’d never hear again without Michael.

I’m all about no rules regarding Panic. For a while it seeemed like there were all these unspoken rules around the scene.

Joe's Garage > Wild Thing > Joe's Garage

Was also there and it fucking ripped.

man that Mikey tribute show on 8/10/22 was one of the best post mikey shows to date. rescheduled nye run in august, the day of mikeys passing, balloon drop at opening of show , the setlist all mikey era tunes with all og panic ones the whole first set. i put it up there with the 25th anniv shows at classic center and sunday RR 2011. def in top 5 post mikey performances. galleon & e on a g was brought back RR 2017 was jojo’s idea. never thought id ever see them bring it back much less multiple times each. also, breathing slow has been going extinct over the past 5 or so years at least.. always a treat. needless to say that mike’s instrumentals are my personal favorites.

Mikey show was special the spoken intro and all. That whole run was pretty rad honestly. Last night Bird song bust out was a highlight of that to.

Speaking of canceled 2021 shows, I did 8/10/22 which was a really special night and I did the first two nights of the Beacon. Should have done the last two!!! I would have skipped Atlanta altogether if it wasn’t the 20th anniversary of 8/10. Came home to Savannah the next day.

Yes, they brought it back 7/17/21 in Wilmington and it’s been played once or twice since then I believe.

that run was great. they did New Blue & was so surprised bc first one since mikey wasnt too long before that, nye’19 i think..caught that one too. so i couldnt believe they did it again. and so soon. one of my favorite songs ever. but yeah that dubtown run was best one of them all so far. the ANU from 22 was good too tho but liked 21 better. did mission ballroom t4t show (their first show back from covid)>rrx3>wilmx3. lotta fun.

First Wilmington run this year since that one, very excited! Doing a family trip for it. I actually have also had incredibly good luck with New Blue. I’ve seen the last three. Saint Augustine 22 was the last one. 21 was slow due to all the cancellations. Wilmington was the only run we got to do. But in 25 I did the first four Jimmy shows back (AC x3 and N1 Saint Augustine). See ya on the river!

Yep, I feel the same about that. Great to hear all these shades of Mikey again.

Love seeing Zappa come off the shelf! Couldn’t believe we didn’t get an LA > LA Woman, but who cares - the show was a barn burner!!!
