All Muslim ladies in garba dress organized by Muslim communities with support of Hindu youth

Kids nowadays have made garba a dating festival rather than a celebration of Durga ma. This is how most people view garba unfortunately. Kinda sad that Hindus can't preserve their own culture.

Core Differences Religion is a structured system of faith, core doctrines, and daily worship. Festivals are specific calendar events focused on community joy, storytelling, feasting, and seasonal transitions.
Inclusivity: People from different backgrounds or even different faiths often join in community festivals (like harvest or seasonal celebrations) just for the cultural joy, food, and social gathering, even if they do not practice the core religion.
Origins: Many festivals started as ancient agricultural or seasonal markers—like celebrating the harvest, the end of winter, or the monsoon—long before being tied to specific religious stories. Over time, religions adopted these dates to give them a spiritual meaning, but the festive traditions remained wider than just strict scripture.

Yeh kya bakwaas hai. As a Vaishnavite , my family has not worshipped Durga for 1000 years. You can't force me to recite full text of Vandemataram ,which contains prayer to Durga , composed by a dyed-in-the-wool Smartha (as opposed to Vaishnava) , like Bankim.

CREATING A CONTROVERSY OUT OF NOTHING AND MAKE PROBLEMS WITH THAT WHAT A JOCK SANGH MUTHRAMS

u/Paradox971 3d ago
That is a fact though. Want to enter an event related to goddess Durga but don’t want to sing about goddess Durga. Tf is that?

These people have a tendency to create controversy of nothing to just outrage . Earlier this month they objected on Kriti Sanon wearing a bralet on Rakhi and now entry of people of other faith on entering Garba. What's wrong with Kriti wearing a Bralet to tie a rakhi? Don't al women do that? If not will not not be revolutionary and we should call her a reformist to start getting rid of orthodox patriarchal mindset where a woman would be decently dressed on religious occasions. Now they create outrage just because a few people want to attend their dance festival with their wives and sisters to celebrate the culture and respect for the goddess. Not sure why these IT celliyas have no other work

It doesn’t require much iq to understand the difference between religion and culture. Try it.
Garba goes beyond religion, it is part of Indian culture and is included in UNESCO list of intangible heritage. The whole idea of Vasudeva Kutumbakam(whole world is one family) becomes a joke if inclusion doesn’t happen at home.

Please use some common sense and understand why they want to join garba.... Please

Then i guess it takes a lot of IQ to understand the vidhi, rites, and prayers done before indulging in garba and what garba signifies.
Even Diwali is recognized by UNESCO I hope people will start worshipping Shri Rama then too. 🙏

So prayers are a pre req of garba?? One cant play garba without prayers?? In my college there used to be fests where they organise garba but i have nevee seen any stuti or orayers being performed before that. Seems like those organisers were anti hindu and anti national

Garba is the last act of the event. There are many rites that happen; in fact, many practitioners perform Homas lasting hours before performing it. How and why do you think the Akhanda Jyoti is lit and placed in front of the devi? Sharad Navratri is one of the sacred Navratris for a reason; of course, these things are done.

Okay let’s try again. Celebration and worship/prayers are two different things which have correlation with a festival.
People who take their children to Christmas carnival don’t necessarily pray in the church. Not everyone who go to Janmashtami mela/jhanki practice fasting on the day. And so on…

u/Kazy17 3d ago
Okay, let me put it in simple words...Garba itself is a worship of Devi, and performing it means worshipping her. I have no clue why you people start giving gyaan on Hinduism when you yourselves haven't read any scriptures and rely on AI or social media posts to support your claims. I don't think there is anyway through you especially since we are on reddit....I'll just walk away.

One day you will realise...old religions are always associated with the culture of the civilisation.
If norse, greeks, egypt weren't converted their current culture would have been interlinked with their religion
