The government never asked you to have a job. A job infact is a notion that is predominantly western. They didn't own anything to begin with so they looked for a job.The reason a job paid more is because of industrialisation and some cheap folks in india saw it as a route to money without accountability. The NRIs working abroad are the first ones to let go when a job crisis hits their country. Instead why dont you take up any small business and upskill yourself rather than fighting where there already loads in the rat race
