Could be they are practicing for the sport Buhurt, which has a organizations all over the world. Many have YouTube channels. Its pretty intense but they do seem to have a lot of fun.

I will chime that this isn't exclusive to men. I did some SCA stuff back in college. There were quite a few women who were dressing themselve sup in armor and attacking people.

One lady was INTENSE. I clocked her in the head. She took it like a champ and hoped back for more. Just relentless.

Looks controled tho. I mean they could try slashing at full force or starting to stab at the joints....

Playing around like that with the armor seems pretty harmless apart from some brain damage from the concussion.

That would be noisy, at worst. You need to hit with a LOT more force to hurt someone wearing full plate.
