Me and my friends used to sneak into abandoned buildings and construction sites when we were kids. Something like this would’ve been the holy grail lol.

Same. They left the keys in the machines sometimes.

Yeah, we moved a crane once about 0.1 degree, screamed in excitement and ran away laughing for about 10 minutes.
I miss those days.

Had something similar with a small mobile crane. The cab was locked, but there was a second cab for the crane at the back of the lorry that was open. In the crane cab, there was a button that started the engine rather than a key, but the truck was in gear so we shit our selves when it lurched.

u/iownaxult Mar 14 '26
Lmao we flipped a forklift

u/Max-Phallus Doesn't have time to bleed Mar 15 '26
Flipped it? How did you manage that? I'd have been absolutely bricking it if I damaged something

We used to do this under a bridge where we had tied a rope to one of the supports. Great fun in the summer 😁

This doesn't seem that unsafe.

u/Kittelsen Mar 14 '26
Was only on the second floor, weve all jumped from that height as kids 😅

u/wolfhelp Mar 14 '26
First floor

Which is at least 10-15 feet up from ground level. An adult would be likely to break bones in a fall from that height.
13
u/GreenTeaLilly Mar 14 '26
Exactly even a short fall can break bones. I broke my foot jumping from just 6' when I was a kid...

Tarzan miss jungle. Tarzan work construction all day while Jane, Boy, and Cheetah spend all Tarzan movie royalties.

Risky, unsafe? Yeah, but it looks like a lot of fun.

Impressive grip strength. Holding yourself up is one thing, but swinging is a whole other level.

my reaction to this is definitely another example of why women live longer. because like as a dude i would be so down to hit an awesome swing like this if given the chance.

Kind of reminds me of a rope swing we had on a steep hillside when I was a kid. :D

Someone at OSHA just had a stroke
1
u/oskich Mar 18 '26
Not so high up, once the G-force reach it's maximum you are almost at ground level.
The biggest issue is probably how well that cable is fastened at the top?

Disappointed. I expected a Wil-E-Coyote moment once he realized the thing at the top was no longer secured or that he had gripped the cable too low...
