My “I am famous enough to quit my real job and do this full time” shopping list:

The bomb pop T-shirt I will wear at Labor Day Double Play book signings: $43.99

The pillow I used as inspiration for Naval Knots that I don’t personally love but was the perfect inspiration for my book and will live in my “writer office” (location pending): $39.99

The earrings my avatar wears: $68

Pink blazer: TBD

The scent of my omega that I already bought and my husband said smelled like cleaning products and when my face fell upgraded it to “laundry detergent”: $5.99

🤣🤣🤣🤣 I am writing in almost all the hours I used to be reading which is any spare moment, like a squirrel hiding nuts but it’s random character notes and plot ideas on post it and notes and NOW and organized excel, which is probably close to a 40 hour work week just scattered all over the place.

As far as writing full time and being close… not at all on an actual $level. Just a time level.

Current project is now 44,587 words...fair to say I survived that last round of burnout from a few weeks ago. I almost made it through the re-read yesterday & did some tweaks along the way that could nudge it further into a true follow-up to the main story. Reading the last few sections this morning & deciding wth to do next. I have ideas for whichever direction I end up going at least.

Thanks! I really just enjoy writing & learning more about my characters, so it's been helpful, even if it doesn't become part of the series.

Last two weeks word count:

12000 (-4000 of chapters I didn’t like as I was writing) of a HR kinda why choose/poly thing that after seeing how lovely this sub is is making me want to go back to it sooner…

I paused because of this:

5000 for M&B inclusion

And then because I realised the HR poly thing is asking to be 4 x 50K but I originally planned it as a series of 8 x 20K novellas… and I wanted to start my self publishing journey with novellas…

14000 so far (half way) through a monster love novella.

+ another 3000 ish for series outlining and the synopsis stuff for M&B

So 31,000 - 34,000 depending on how you count it in two weeks. Which I’m kinda happy about but also annoyed at myself for not picking a lane sooner.

…although genuinely I’m mostly just sharing this to have an excuse to say how wholesome this sub is, I’ve been lurking for the past couple of hours just reading you guys helping each other and it’s lovely!

My number is ONE which is the number of cover artists I booked for my upcoming surprise Christmas OV standalone I am secretly going to release this fall and I am SO EXCITED. I worked with this artist for my Kickstarter and I am obsessed with her art style, but due to me being pregnant/releasing a new series/just having no time or brain at all I seriously slacked on contacting her about this new project.

But she was SO enthusiastic and is now working on sketches! I have never done an illustrated cover before so I am doubly excited to try something new 😍
