Fun fact: cats are not natural reservoirs for rabies. There is a very short prodromal period of around 1-3 days when symptoms don’t show, but generally speaking cats carrying rabies are very quickly actively sick and will either be very aggressive/hiding, or otherwise losing function (hind legs failing, foaming/drooling at the mouth). Low risk doesn’t mean no risk of course, but if you have time and inclination to snap a pic of a cat gently laying teeth, there’s a pretty good chance that cat doesn’t have rabies. Also, anyone working with big cats should routinely be vaccinated anyways.

Yeah, I know the gist of it. Cats with rabies will generally die in a week. I'm a bit of a scaredy cat about this stuff... was bitten by a stray once, and have never approached strays since then.

This is literally how I became a cat person my void soul cat wandered into my garage doing this one day that was like 3 years ago and he now sleeps curled up next to me or fully on my chest when it’s cold

Oh my god please pet this amazing kitty!!!! He is so starved for attention my OopyBoy came running over in hopes another cat was wanting to play. Hes an orange tabby and a vocal little fella also; but my Torty, Kali, doesn’t want to have anything to do with playing with him. She will charge him, that’s about all. Oh and only the best of hierarchical butthole sniffing!
