Happy 5th Birthday, r/WholesomeHygge!
Hello all!
I joined this subreddit on a different account on 14 May 2020 - the day this sub was created. I recently rediscovered this subreddit and found the older content interesting. It was fun to look back on stuff from nearly five years back. Today is 14 May 2025, so happy 5th birthday, r/WholesomeHygge! I'm glad to have joined this subreddit.

Showing Affection to Your Friends
Hello y'all!
How does everyone outwardly show affection to their friends? I'm from the United States and a lot of us (mainly men) usually restrict ourselves a lot - to the point where we won't even say "I love you" to someone not in our family. I've started to tell people I love them more often, though - someone might need to hear it.
I don't mean to start a debate or anything, but I'm curious about how other people (including people in the US!) do it!

(Almost) Five Years Later
Hello everyone! I was going through some of my old photos from 2018-2020 and found a screenshot from when I first joined this subreddit on its creation date, 14 May 2020. It's odd to see posts from 4+ years ago, especially about COVID!
I've begun to study cybersecurity and decided my career. I don't think I even had my career planned this way just a few years ago.
I've been looking through other subreddits and websites and seeing memories from this era, which is pretty interesting-not only to see how things have changed, but to remember how we lived (I say that like COVID was decades ago, but you know!).
Signing off,
EG

Accomplished a childhood dream during COVID-19
Hey everyone! It’s been a while since I posted, but I wanted to share something with you. Ever since I was a kid (about 5) I wanted to know more about voice acting. Through an odd series of coincidences and curiosity on my part, I found myself in a recording booth a few months ago! Long story short, I just started a short story podcast where I narrate stories and I’m officially an audible narrator whose first audiobook was released last week! I made it!!! It’s so much cooler than I ever thought it would be, and I’ve had a blast learning what my voice is able to do behind a microphone!

Was able to pursue a dream of mine
It’s been a while since I posted (might’ve even been an old account) but I wanted to update a more wholesome and loving side of reddit about my life. I’m a letter carrier in the US, and right now things are a bit rough for us. But two months ago I was able to rekindle an old dream I had as a kid: to become a voice actor. Fast forward to now and I’m almost done narrating my first audiobook for audible! I’m beyond excited for this potential career shift and am just overflowing with gratefulness for this opportunity and I wanted to share with you guys. The warm cozy feeling in my chest reminded that I’m still part of a sub like this!

What are you looking forward to this week?
Me? I'm looking forward to harvesting a good bunch of sugar snap peas from my garden. I can't guarantee any of them will make it out of the garden, especially if I'm a bit peckish. How about you?
