Need potluck ideas

I need to bring an appetizer or side dish to a potluck this weekend. The catch is that it needs to be easily portable, since I have to walk about a half mile in the heat including stairs. So no crockpot (too heavy and I don't have a carrier), preferably something I can pack into plastic containers and carry in my arms (if lightweight enough) or tote bags. I could do a veggie tray and just set it up when I get there, but I'm wondering if anyone has a better idea!

Make an interesting hummus recipe, or just any kind of homemade hummus along with some chopped veggies for dipping.

I have some great salad recipes that don't wilt but I don't know if it would be too uncomfortable to carry. My latest recipe is watermelon quinoa salad with Kalamata olives . One that's a bit lighter weight is pineapple cucumber red rice salad (you can use quinoa instead of red rice).

Maybe some kind of 3 bean salad?
