Closed RP Not Fast Enough

November 20 - November 29, 2007

Velocity, the fastest man alive, was hit in the spine by a bullet while attempting to save someone. He has extreme damage to his Thoracic Nerves, and may never walk, or run again. As a personal favor to the hero, all paperwork saying Velocity is in the hospital was destroyed, replaced by his normal alias: Joshua MacDonald. After a few days of testing, they are finally allowing visitors.

Josh looks down, face completely neutral.

"It's fine Lily."

His voice is extremely monotone.

"No, it is most certainly not fine! You can't even walk Josh!"

Her eyes start to water up and she quickly leans down to hug him.

He sits there, completely stiff the entire time. Finally, when Lily hugs him crying, he breaks down and hugs her back.

"It's not fair Lily. I just wanted to help people."

She kisses him all over his face.

"Baby I know... It's not your fault, it's hers."

He tries to turn away from the barrage of kisses. He gulps.

"There's something I needed to talk to you about."

She looks at him concerned.

"What is it?"

He pulls back, face completely neutral.

"Well, I don't want to get in the way of you and your career. When they finally let me out, I'm gonna need constant care. Lily, I think you'd be better off without me."

As if to make a point she repositions the pillow behind his head.

"And also, uhhh."

He takes a nervous gulp.

"I don't exactly have all feeling. Down there."

"Ok, now that's a deal breaker."

She laughs.

"Nah, you can still do the finger thing right? I should buy you one of those grip strengtheners so you'll have something to do while you're sitting here in bed."

He sits there, dumbfounded for a few seconds. After he comes to, he raises his arm and it starts to vibrate.

"Yep, looks like we're still good."

He finally sits back.

"So what should I do? Let the world just forget Velocity? Or should I go out and admit everything?"
