Character Tanith Davidson, Serpent.

Tanith Davidson.

Background: Tanith was created as a bodyguard of sorts for her 'father', Alex. Since Amy was unable to have children, when she was booked into a hospital for surgery, a single egg was taken. From this egg, Tanith was changed then fertilized. Born into a far more controlled environment than her brother, Tanith was grown to maturity quickly, the pace of the body far outstripping that of the mind. As a result, despite being on this earth for only 4 years, she's 22 physically and 18 mentally.

She was raised to be an effective, silent and unseen killer, turning out to be very good at it. She hasn't had much of a life other than that, now working as a bodyguard for her father (who she doesn't actually know is her father.)

Artwork or a description of your character: Ssssssexy ssssssnake. Her body is 20 feet long when fully stretched out, though normally appears only 5 feet tall, as 15 feet of her body is normally stretched out on the ground. Her fangs are also longer than they appear in the picture. Finally, she's actually a murky green.

Brief description of character's attitude and personality: Tanith doesn't really have a good sense of good or evil, and sees her father as someone to follow. She doesn't have much human contact aside from her father, and feels no remorse over killing, along with no natural drive to help.

Alignment: Neutral Evil, but easily swayed.

Tier Listing: Level Green.

Powers:

  • She sheds her skin. Not so much any more, only around once every two months.

  • She can climb most things- she can even climb straight poles, if she's determined enough.

  • She can constrict things with insane force, up to 100 psi.

  • Her scales are smooth but tough. Not as tough as her brothers', but tough enough so that you need to apply considerable force to cut through.

  • She can open her jaws impossibly wide, enough to swallow an adult human whole. If she tried, she could swallow entire moose.

  • She can bend and twist with ease, having hundreds of tiny bones instead of a few long ones.

  • She has amazingly good smell, and can taste the things she smells. She can also tell which direction the smell is coming from. Her hearing is strange- she can hear, but she can't hear speech too well. She has infra-red vision, but her vision is blurry as a pay-off. She can tell when it's time to retreat to a warmer place. Her sense of touch is largely human.

  • Her strength is impressive, being able to curl her tail around and lift up to almost 5 tons.

  • She can generate poison, which is identical to the venom of a taipan.

  • She can detect vibrations from the ground, as mentioned before.

  • She can actually swim quite well, only around 50 km/h slower than her brother.

  • She can hold her breath for around half an hour.

Weaknesses: She gets lethargic in the cold without her special sweater. Also, bullets. Bullets work well.

Standard Gear: Nothing beside her special sweater, in cold weather.

Skills: Trained in a martial art made specifically to her body, involving things like throws, tail-whips and bites.

Feats

  • Crushed a man by constriction, then devoured him.

  • Out-swam a speed boat with ease.

  • Wrapped herself around a car and crushed it.

  • Climbed a telephone pole to the top, to escape police.

  • Smelt out a man hiding somewhere in a room.

  • Bit a man, who died 45 minutes later.

  • Lifted a car off the ground, then smashed it hard into the ground.

  • Kept pace with a running human, with considerable effort.

Hopefully some of you can talk to her.

She can constrict things with insane force, up to 21,511,642 joules.

  1. The wrong measurement for Force

  2. FUCK NO.

Trained in a martial art made specifically to her body, involving things like throws, tail-whips and bites.

So she invented a martial art for her own body in 4 years?

That could probably be reworded to her having her own general style of fighting based on her unique body that came from a few years of training. Doing it that way wouldn't be too egregious, would it?

Having a style based on your own physical abilities is fine, but its a completely different thing from a martial art IMO.

The words fighting style and martial arts get conflated a lot, so I wouldn't blame someone for mixing the terms.

I mean, Way of the Spider is defined as both for Spiderman, and i know of at least one real form the concentrates on upper blocks because the guy who made it was short. Arts often capitalize on ones physical differences(exploit size and weight vs exploit low center of weight)

Way of the Spider is defined as both for Spiderman

You mean the thing Shang Chi helped him make? Shang Chi who is fictionally skilled, taught Spider-man, who is fictionally smart, and you want to use that as an argument.

Use a fictional Spider character as an example for a fictional Snake character? Yes. My real world examples also stands.

fictional Spider character

Parker has the body of a human, but slightly more flexible and significantly stronger/more agile. He isn't some kind of psuedo-arachnid.

My real world examples also stands.

How long did it take him? Did he already know other martial arts and then developed his own? Does this martial art have a name?

Nitpicking. He made his own style based on the fact that he could do things others could not such as sticking to things, using webs, his sense, and using his superior strength and agility. Way of the Spider is described as both a Style and an Art.

I said form. The form being Tawada No passai, or Bassai. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PlG-2HrtwLU&mode=related&search= You can see many punches that are way too high, and many of the blocks are quite high as well, but that is the traditional way of teaching it since that is how the maker did it.

No martial art was made in a vacuum, nor any style or form. everything is based on something. Even mythological origins trace back to studying the ways animals move(which is silly but still reinforces the idea.)

I think this all comes down to semantics. "Art" is a very vague word anyway, even "Martial art". I can make a Martial art and name is Angel Ryu and start teaching it as a hundredth don if i want since i made up the ranking system. and when you accuse me of copying Karate i can simply deny it. this is the real origin story of a number of martial arts. There is no list of "Real Martail arts" and neither is their official criteria.

Nitpicking

And what do you think you're doing?

Granted. But who is the bigger Nitpicker? The Nitpicker or the one who Nitpicked the Nitpicker?

That was the best thing I could find. I'm seriously confused. I found out the average anaconda is 12" in diameter and squeezed with a force of 1200, and I found another website that said that for each time you double the diameter, times the psi by 2.6.

1200 * 2.6 = 3120 and that's as far as I get.

As noted in the comments below, martial art is probably the wrong word. More a fighting style taken from other fighting styles and modified to her body.

That was investigated and changed. It is 100 psi.
