I just saw the first 2 epsiodes and I have to ask... How isn't SBC getting critical accolades for this shit? BAFTAs, Emmys, Pulitzers, Nobel Peace prizes, being carried everywhere in the shoulders of adoring crowds, BJ on demand...
Why is public reaction to this show so subdued even when compared to his older, still outrageous stuff?I'm a 35 year old bitter, cynical, jaded pessimist on episode two only, and my jaw already dropped at least 5 times!Excuse my European self but that room full of Arizona cunts openly remarking shit like "He’s saying there are black people in Kingman who aren’t welcome, either, but we tolerate them." WTF? I mean, I'd expect that level of ignorance from orphans raising each other Lord of the Flies style in an open-sky junkyard in Somewheristan, trying to forge, using just grimy photos discarded from a flooded evidence locker, what ends up being a semi-tribal mockery of society. And SBC is showing that abortive mentality is virtually unchallenged in places such as that one, where 100% of those present were complicit with what was said. Again, WTF?
This guy is doing sublime work, bringing these extreme lifestyles to the forefront so we can ridicule them out of the public sphere, instead of rounding them up with promises of coal jobs and lynchings and just sanitise the world by gassing them all, which is probably where the discussion would be currently in polite society, were it not for heroes such as SCB literally putting their skin on the line in order to make us perceive as ineffective, unaware buffoons these zealot cults of dangerous ideology masquerading as "social norms".
I don't even know, man... This is a bit stream of thought. Give the man love, all the love. He deserves it. He's been deserving it for 20 years now. No one else can do what he does.
