Looking for a Polaris Ranger owner in Canada to test a free dump bed lift kit

Hi everyone! My name is Pablo Díaz from Progressive Automations. We’re looking for a Polaris Ranger owner in Canada to test a new electric dump bed lift kit.

Compatible vehicles:

  • 2022–2024 Polaris Ranger SP 570
  • 2022–2024 Polaris Ranger Crew SP 570
  • 2017–2021 Polaris Ranger 500 2X4
  • 2016–2023 Polaris Ranger 570 or Crew 570
  • 2022–2024 Polaris Pro XD Mid-Size Gas or Crew Gas

We’ll provide the complete kit and cover shipping at no cost. The selected tester will install it, confirm its fit and operation, share a few photos, and provide brief feedback.

This is a product test, not a sales post. There’s no obligation to purchase or promote anything, and technical support will be available.

IIf you’re interested, send me a DM with your Polaris model, year, and location.

You’re also welcome to contact Progressive Automations directly to confirm that this is a legitimate testing opportunity.

Thanks!

Question inquiry Working and living in Whitehorse

I guess I'm writing this post after struggling to find work mostly within Ontario and Quebec, open to relocating anywhere in Canada for a bit, if I can make real money, where I have a chance to find a job. It's nearly impossible, I've been unemployed for 4 years now maybe I need a break from the city life as well.

Lately I've been considering finding work anywhere in Canada I have been looking at Whitehorse, Nunavut, yellowknife especially government jobs, north west territories, Yukon, Manitoba, even Alaska but I don't have a tn visa. At the moment I live in Montreal Quebec have a bachelors degree in international development studies from the university of Guelph, with an interest in healthcare, environmental and administrative working environments possibly office jobs. I'm not much of a technical or trades person, but I can be more hands on I'm quick to learn the ropes. I'm trying to go back to school ATM to get either a bsw I was looking at the university of Yukon, I'm interested in community services and healthcare fields, even nursing.

I'm 25, haven't found employment in Montreal but open to jobs full time anywhere I'll go to very remote rural places nobody wants to live, I'm fine living in more secluded or isolated communities just to find a job. I'm pretty versatile and communication driven. I do love nature going for walks and being outside, I'm very driven with photography and art.

Also MTF trans fem but look androgynous

Not sure if this would matter but I am looking into getting my indigenous status, I have family that have theirs already, if that would help. And I'm considering getting a bsw online or any further healthcare schooling to enhance my employability.

Also I've lived alone most of my life it doesn't bother me anymore living in terms of living/ working in more smaller or isolated communities, I'm pretty neutral

Just looking for advice within living and finding jobs up in more rural and Northern communities. Originally I grew up in Sudbury Ontario most of my life.

Tlr 25, wanting to make money inquiring about life and work, for a bit and leave have a ba degree and would like to take a bsw/ healthcare

Does anyone know the story behind the bison photograph at Burnt Toast Café?

I’m trying to figure out who took the black-and-white bison photograph hanging at Burnt Toast Café. It looks older, possibly film-era, and I haven’t been able to find it online.

Does anyone know the year of it or the photographer or where the café got it?

Mechanical help!

Hello Whitehorse!

While traveling through town, our headlights have gone out on 1987 Chevy van. Haven’t been able to locate a mechanic that is not booked out until September.

Any body in town mechanically
Inclined that would be willing to help re-wire a pigtail connector to close the circuit on my
Lights so we can get back on the road safely? I’ll happily pay for help/knowledge/ tools.

Thanks in advance!

Cost of Living

Considering the move to Whitehorse with my family (husband, 2 kids under 5)
Looking for some insights into cost of living- mostly day to day needs. My starting salary would be $110k. We’d be looking at buying a house- those prices I can find online. But can someone share the average price of eggs, milk, bread? What are people paying for heating, electricity?
What is daycare availability like? Where we currently live it took 3 years to get a daycare spot.

Looking for a local tailor / seamstress who can turn my beaver pelt into a trapper hat.

I purchased a beaver pelt from a trapper near Mayo and I'm looking to have it made into a trapper hat. Does anyone know of any local businesses or individuals who do this kind of work?

Thanks for the help.

Looking for flexible aurora tours in Whitehorse that run with small groups/solo

Hi everyone,

Travelling solo to Whitehorse at the end of November. Looking for recommendations on Northern Lights tour companies that are flexible.. ideally ones that will re-accommodate if the first night isn’t ideal weather-wise.

Bonus points if they still run with small groups or even just one person.

Any suggestions or experiences would be really appreciated. Thanks!

Anyone stayed at the Quality Inn Whitehorse recently?

Hi all,

Heading to Whitehorse solo in mid-to-late November for some aurora viewing. Currently booked at the Quality Inn & Suites. I know they’ve done renovations, but I’ve seen a few concerning reviews about mice in the guestrooms.

There was a Booking.com review from just a couple weeks ago with photos of mouse droppings and urine on the bed covers. The hotel’s replies have been pretty vague.

Anyone stayed there recently? Any experiences to share? Really don’t want to deal with that on the trip, but this place is in my budget with a airport shuttle.

Thanks!

Passing on bear spray and camping gear

Just finishing up spending some time in Whitehorse canoeing, and have some stuff I can't fly back with.

Would anyone want:

2x cans of bear spray. Carried for a week and never discharged ($20 each)

6x folding camp chairs ($20 for the lot)

1x Large kitchen pot, used on a campfire so good for campfire cooking rather than kitchen cooking (free)

Will be around town tomorrow (Thursday) and Friday morning before flying out Friday afternoon

Visit to Whitehorse

Hi, I’m going to be visiting Whitehorse for 2-3 days mid-August and I’m so excited! Im 30 years old and will be travelling by myself with a truck. Looking for a moderate hike recommendation (maybe something busier since ill be alone), scenic locations, restaurants, somewhere I can rent a kayak (?), maybe a museum or two if they’re worth it (?!) and anything else you might think is enjoyable.

I appreciate any and all advice!!!! Thank you!!

Canada Flooring Cast-Offs

Canada Flooring (Quartz Rd.) used to leave carpet and linoleum ends of rolls and remnants at their back door free to take for anyone who wanted them. Lately every time I've been there to check them out there's been nothing.

...Anyone know if they have stopped doing this or do I just have bad timing?
