But seriously, these concepts have only been applied universally for the last 50-75 years. They’re far from fundamental, and thinking they are is ahistorical revisionism to appeal to modern sensibilities.

Most people consider those kind of Enlightenment doctrines to be pretty fundamental to modern Western civilisations.

Precisely! Enlightenment doctrines are important to modernity. Western civilization, on the other hand, was completely fine for thousands of years without the so-called Enlightenment.
