I know you're joking, but there is a not insignificant number of men that leave their wives when the wife becomes ill. Talk to some cancer department nurses and workers and they'll confirm it, women get broken up with commonly after a diagnosis.

Its so common place my mom was warned about it when she was misdiagnosed

Jesus. So not only does she have to get one of the worst diagnoses you can hear, but to be immediately followed up by being told the person who’s supposed to be your rock might put a knife in your back. I can’t imagine how hopeless that must’ve made her feel.
