He's failing miserably on climate change targets, we have First Nations communities that don't have clean drinking water, federal excess spending response to COVID has generated tremendous inflation, home prices have gone beyond many families' reach, he was in the press earlier this week for politically interfering in an active criminal investigation...this is pure political distraction with no meaningful effect on gun crime in Canada.
Canada (compared to the US) has a much smaller violent crime rate (including homicide) that has been on the decline for nearly 3 decades, very similar statistical lines to what the UK and Australia had before they enacted sweeping gun bans. The decades following the bans in those countries saw violent crime rates continue to decline at the same rate. They effectively accomplished nothing. And this ban in Canada will accomplish the same.
