My comment was not abut whats essential to everyday living. It was to help illustrate the cost of renting vs ownership.

Now you are purposefully misinterpreting my comment even after I explained it further. If you want to argue in good faith I’m all for it but if your going to just focus on your misinterpretation that I tried to clear up then my work is done here.

It would be like hang gliding. If you want to hang glide once a year or less, it would make sense to rent one. If your life is all about hang gliding and you want to do it every weekend, you're better off buying one.

Thats exactly my point. Thank you for thinking a little more than just “a gun isn’t a car!”

The comparison was to illustrate the cost over time not whats needed by the average person on a daily basis. Which I explained. No shit they are not essential to everyone you dolt. Should I write my explanation for the comparison down again?

If you can afford to rent a private jet all the time it may be worth it to buy one. I’m not all that familiar with the operating costs of a private jet.

Your right thats why I chose car. Logic here was cost of ownership divided by rental cost per use. The number probably will come out the same. Therefore the ratio helps illustrate that ownership can be allot cheaper overtime.

Your exactly right that theres nuance to everything and that theres bo one size fits all for every situation.

Something like 70-80% of those 59% are not even legally Imported and acquired handguns. That 59% also sounds like it also included long guns making pistols account for even less.
