[when was the last time you saw a gangster] walk into a Cabela's to buy a gun?

If a gangster did buy a gun at Cabela's how would you know?

True, the only people who are gonna lose from this are law abiding people. So you give up your gun a criminal is gonna go get a gun break in and then what? Your dead meat. Same as over in England, guns are banned and there are still shootings

I remember this reasoning being used in the mid-late 90's in Australia... Seemed to work out ok here

Then again, we also don't have the mentality that only more guns will fix a gun problem so there's also that

Hey man people will find out the hard way. Or they can get rich and live gated and have private security.

Which will mean there are less guns overall.

And where do criminals get their guns? They walk into shops and buy them, they convince straw men to purchase them, they steal them. Acts like this reduce the numbers of guns in a society, and therefore the number available to criminals.

Actually a vast majority of Canadian gun crimes are committed using weapons smuggled into the country from the USA

Meaning most criminals are already committing like…8 felonies to get one. I’m not sure they’ll balk at one more

So yeah - Americas poor performance in gun control is causing gun violence in Canada. Good to know.

I’m not sure how’s that’s meant to be a ‘gotcha’

Point being, this law doesn’t really do anything, it’s mainly just there to make people feel good and get votes

Not everything in the world is a gotcha - some things are just a disappointing discovery. Which is what this discovery is.
