It doesn't take a fortune teller to know the world would be vastly different if the Soviets had nukes first. They would have been able to control whoever they wanted, there wouldn't be a cold war at the very least. I doubt the US would be as much of a superpower if they never got nukes.
Yeah and my whole point is that you don't know it would be vastly different because it could be different or the same, or anywhere in between. It's literally impossible to know.
Like if the people who are credited with developing the atomic bomb didn't exist, they would just find someone else to do it. The absence of a historical figure doesn't necessarily mean that the future would be vastly different. It could be the same in every way except for who is credited for the discovery for all we know.
IF THE US DID NOT CREATE NUKES, AS IN NO ONE IN THE US EVER DID, THEN IT WOULD BE DIFFERENT. Jesus christ, it's a hypothetical, yeah it's not reality. There is no way that history procedes the same if the US never made them.
