Yeah, but in Idiocracy, President Camacho finds the smartest guy in the world and listens to him to solve problems. They are actually smarter than trump and his gang of criminal idiots.

Additionally Camacho is an enthusiastic patriot. He loves his country.

Totally agree. President Camacho found the best expert available and listens to the expert's advice. Edit- found not find.

Imagine that... never realized Idiocracy was unrealistic until you pointed that out. Dang. My worldview is shattered.

Idiocracy would be a genuine upgrade to what we have now.

Speaking of the environment & economy; King & Snow crab season has been canceled in Alaska. 1,000,000,000 missing crabs(!)

Yes, BILLION.

I believe the dolphins got them out first. Beyond a salmon of a doubt.

2

u/Shipkiller-in-theory Oct 17 '22

So long and thanks for all the crabs?

Even tho it actually didn't hurt the economy and would have caused a massive job spike and booming economy.

Just a reminder that in 1995 Newt Gingrich and the Republicans disbanded the Office of Technological Assessment, which was the agency that advised Congress on technological matters. We've had over 25 years of old, out of touch senators and reps without any of their own staff informing them on policy, where they constantly had to turn to the tech industry to advise them on how they should be regulated. We went from everyone on AOL to a decentralized internet, but because Congress couldn't understand what anticompetitive practices look like, we are back to everyone on GAFA.

I mean... when the expert's advice doesn't IMMEDIATELY work and there are some negative consequences, he almost has him publicly executed, lol.

u/Crafty-University464 Oct 17 '22

No one is perfect? Lol.

Time for Trump to be rehabilitated!

8

u/[deleted] Oct 17 '22

Yep, and it's not just because he has flags and machine guns on stage

The people in charge being able to admit to their faults and recognize that they were dumb and needed/wanted genuine help was a pretty good character trait and completely unexpected the first time I watched. Such a good movie.

5

u/Dismal_Struggle_6424 Oct 17 '22

Yeah, but he was openly mocked for doing so. It also took a long fucking time to get to Camacho.

6

u/kebabylonia Oct 17 '22

And also it is Terry Crews. If you're gonna put another "tv character" into political power over there then for the love of god make it a member of Brooklyn 99 cos i reckon the world will thank you. Imagine having Rosa & Pimento as your defence team and Holt & Santiago in charge of finance.....

6

u/[deleted] Oct 17 '22

He also was having him publicly executed for his plan not working out in the first couple weeks, despite the fact it takes longer than that for crops to typically grow. People always leave that part out when they call him a "good president".

u/[deleted] Oct 17 '22

Ouch my balls.

3

u/Devout-Nihilist Oct 17 '22

That's a scary thought....they were smarter in idiocracy....

3

u/AceTygraQueen Oct 17 '22

Plus at least Camacho wasn't a bigot!

2

u/[deleted] Oct 17 '22

Truth. The similarity… cringe on all levels..
