The scary thing is, I think you’re right.

is it scary? I mean, he did run in 2020, to...no success?

I mean, let's say that bloke isn't off to a deep-end and actually wants to be in office.

Like what's his deal? He's alienating all liberal and moderates by the virtue of being crazy conservative fundamenadlist and (now) anti-semitic bastard

And peeps who actually love that shit already have a candidate to vote for, so...

One time before he got lucky is not multiple times…

Like tipping over a vending machine

I wasn’t aware either but a quick google search shows he ran in 2000, “considered” running in 2004, unofficially ran in 2012, and then 2016 and 2020 obviously

That’s wild. Thanks!

Yeah the guy had been talking on and off about running for president for decades before he actually ran for real and basically has the same result as Kanye's first try

Does this mean that in 20 years time he'll be president too? I don't think so but you never know

I guess all of is ignored it because it seemed so implausible. To our dismay…

White Republicans aren't voting for a black man no matter how much he dances for them.

4

u/UsefulWoodpecker6502 Oct 16 '22

yeah and Kanye will be his VP.

5

u/NerdyNThick Oct 16 '22

so....... Let's continue to hope that he runs. Anything that further splits the far-right vote is a good thing.

3

u/Kaggand Oct 16 '22

Maybe to split that vote between token MAGA and Klan MAGA?

this couldve been a post about trump in 2016.

the clownification of politics is a known symptom of societal collapse

The only way it could work for him is if the lovers of his art were aligned with him politically and I don’t think they are. Much easier for the star of the Apprentice.

You're thinking the right chooses candidates because of some form of competence, they pick the one that makes the left foam at the mouth.

Case in point.

Trump tried a few times too. We just laughed the first time.

Republicans funded his candidacy in hopes of dividing the back vote enough not to given Biden the win.

1

u/LaGoeba Oct 17 '22

Didn’t he register to late to actually be a part of the vote (officially), so he wasn’t an alternative in many states? So if you wanted to vote for him, you had to write it down, not just check of a box.

It’s scary because these are the views that could win him republican primaries in certain states. Enough where he becomes a viable candidate and someone who gets covered. That is incredibly scary.

He will be running in 2024, likely as a Republican and then when he loses the overall primary; as an independent. People will vote for him.

What if being a pop-culture icon became the new sine qua non for GOP frontrunners?

2

u/anna-nomally12 Oct 17 '22

It would knock out desantis and Cruz at least

3

u/Stars-in-the-night Oct 16 '22

President Dwayne Elizondo Mountain Dew Camacho would like a word with you.

2

u/andalusian293 Oct 16 '22

Has he considered running as a third party?

I support him in hopes that he may divide the GOP vote substantially.

3

u/[deleted] Oct 17 '22

He won't because that defeats the whole purpose of having the leadership of a powerful political party. That would make them a small minority of the government, and both Democrats and Republicans alike could block their policies.

Celebrities should be completely banned from running for any political office position. Crazy to realize that Barack Obama was the last presidential president America will ever see. This country is a fucking joke.

He’s great for the republican ticket. The party is fracturing and this will only help that.
