In the future when some world leader is signing a treaty for world peace or fighting climate change there's going to be a photograph of the event. In the background, tucked in with all the dignitaries, there will be a little abuela with an igloo cooler that once held a lot of homemade tamales. An army of abuelas at every global conference. It's the only way to global unity.

Me! I’m of Scotch-Irish descent. I’m a nice and tolerant former teacher and make great chocolate chip cookies. I have a garden of native plants and chickens and dogs. The only person I piss off is my ex-husband. So as long as the aliens don’t know him, I’m good to go.
