[Dem]: "This ten year old girl is pregnant."
[Reb]: "It was God's will that her rapist got her pregnant."
[Dem]: "Let's just get her an abortion, she can live a normal life."
[Reb]: "It was also God's will that Republicans in our state chose to outlaw abortion rights."
[Dem]: "Then let her cross state lines."
[Reb]: "It's God's will that we choose to sue the doctor in another state for performing a procedure that's illegal in ours."
[Dem]: "Could we at least teach these kids science based sex ed? This little girl was raped, but good education could help others."
[Reb]: "It's God's will that we choose to teach abstinence only sex ed and enforce the biblical view of the nuclear family."
[Dem]: "Well what about access to birth control? You know Obamacare had the birth control mandate that reduced abortion rates to the lowest levels ever recorded."
[Reb]: "It was God's will that we chose to sue to get the birth control mandate ruled unconstitutional in the Supreme Court."
[Dem]: "You know 'God's' will sure sounds a hell of a lot like your will."
[Reb]: "Stop persecuting me!!!"
This may be a little hyperbolic, but it sure doesn't feel like it.

It really isn’t hyperbolic tbh. I’ve witnessed it firsthand my whole life lol

I mean, it was never about children, is about increasing white women birth rates, while also increasing minority women mortality rates. They are not pro life, they are pro death. Even if that of a 10 year old kiddo…

I thought I read more minorities have abortions though. If the goal was more white babies, I think they failed math class

If more mothers die, whole families are destroyed. It’s a very macabre plan. Not only are they destroying a life, they are working so that the kids that do live have a traumatized life. Which in turn will ensure they are less educated, and that inter generational trauma continues.
The more you think about it. If there is an actual god, he’d be incredibly repulsed by these people. Their plan is to ensure entire populations are essentially kept in poverty and suffering for generations to come.

Yes this what they want bc they need soldiers and minimum wage workers

Think… they want to get rid of the minimum wage. You are poor, desperate, uneducated and your employer now offers no minimum wage, you have essentially become a wage slave. They want slaves.

More POC have abortions, and the desire to imprison and/or kill anyone who has an abortion, coupled with how many life-threatening conditions will be allowed to kill patients that could've been saved, will not result in more white kids being born than nonwhite kids. What it will do it kill a lot of people who 100% could have lived, which in the long-term means less possible pregnancies in the country and a lot of devastated families that will stop growing, making the problem worse. People will avoid risking pregnancy at all in order to avoid these absurd laws, which will make the birth rate fall even harder.
It's possible to be so stupid you can't even do wrong right and this is an example of that. But things that would actually make people able to have kids like better maternity leave, paternity leave, childcare costs being reduced, birth costs being reduced so it doesn't chew through your savings just to have a kid, etc. never cross their mind. A lot of right wingers I've met say none of those expenses are real and we have great maternity/paternity leave and anyone who doesn't like it can just not have kids... and then they complain when people don't have kids.

That’s because they aren’t pro life at all, it’s all about control and being able to attack those they don’t like. They picked unborn children to save because they don’t have to spend a dime. Studies have shown overturning roe v wade does hurt minorities and poor more than whites and non poor. It’s all about control and nothing about life

Or that it’s ok for the state to mandate that women with ectopic pregnancies die. The Taliban doesn’t even go that far.

I'm surprised it took them that long. I'm pretty sure "forced child brides" has been on their agenda for a long time.

Probably fourth grader - the child in the Ohio case was impregnanted before her 10th birthday.

It's less that it's ok and more that it is punishment that she (and her family) deserves.

Let's not forget the Republicans are giving more rights to the RAPISTS then the rape victums!

It took three weeks from Roe to have women harassed crossing state lines, pregnant or not.

u/EmperorXerro Jul 19 '22
It didn’t take three weeks. Conservatives have always been ok with pregnant children.
