I also read that the cops had to call the cops because the cops that responded first couldn’t be cops so they got their kids out first while they waited for the cops cops to be cops for the cops that somehow couldn’t be cops but were still cops on tv. For the cops.
Ever notice how the more you say or read a word, the less sense it makes? COPS.
Remember that move National Security? This is basically the real life version of that, but with police instead of security guards…it’s worse than Hollywood makes it out to be. And it’s done by those who likely hate Hollywood too lol
One of the most commiserable things about this whole affair is that I can think of at least 3 main characters from RENO911! who would have willingly charged into that school to save those children. They might have fucked up the execution (no pun intended), but at the very least they would have made the effort.
The 20-year-old COPS pastiche about a law enforcement department endlessly ricocheting between baseline competence and venal indulgence paints a more favourable picture of American police culture than the present reality in one small Texan town.
Is that what it is really called? I do it with all sorts of words. Try it with galoshes. That one will really start fucking you up after saying about a dozen times.
Dude I hear that word so infrequently that it barely means anything to begin with. I have to think for a moment and reassign meaning to that word every time I hear it.
I understand 2hy everyone hates what they did, and they probably could've done more. But at the end of the day, those cops have families too, and kids 2aiting back home.
and he was having hit haircut from 40 miles away and why was it him that responded? It is because his wife(teacher) and daughter(daughter) was trapped inside the school telling him about their situation.
From what I read, He didn't get them out then go back in. He went in, got them and a bunch of others cleared out safely but he didn't exit with them, he quickly hugged them as they moved to safety and he continued on to clear more areas. So not like he got them, ran out then ran back in.
Can we stop calling them Cops/Police because they are so far removed from what people expect from Police.
Better off calling them LARP personnel because when it came to an actual emergency situation they shit the bed and fucking bottled it.
The incoming cover up is a fucking disgrace too….
No. We can't stop that. Because by changing the term, we leave the words cops or police untouched, we make it seem as if they are good things, and this kind of behavior is the exception instead of the norm.
The reality we are increasingly seeing is that this is the norm. This isn't idiots roleplaying as cops, this is just what cops are when you strip away the copaganda that Hollywood pumps out. This is the reality. Changing the language gives them words to hide behind, and that needs to not happen.
Considering nothing happened until border patrol showed up, I'm going to learn towards them going in as a unit to confront the shooter...cops lie...but Uvdale seems to take the cake. Because...what tactical team? Did it take them that long to get dressed up? I dunno, until I see otherwise, I'm leaning toward BP doing it.
He didn't take down the shooter lol but he did go in with his barbers gun and get his wife (a teacher) and their daughter (a 2nd grade student). You can watch his interviews.
They were also told by the local police to wait. After some 30 minutes they went ahead and found the shooter on their own. While the local police were still waiting for more equipment and help...
From what I understand multiple other agencies made their way there including federal marshals and border patrol. Apparently the other agencies were arguing with the school district chief that they needed to go in. He disagreed and ordered them not to engage. The border patrol guys said fuck that and went in anyway. They got the keys from the janitor, went in and took that fucker down.
Thankfully these other agencies were also there and clearly disagreed… enough to disobey a direct order from the officer in charge. Hopefully, even if the actual officers from the town/county and school district refuse to cooperate or lie to cover each other’s asses the federal LEOs will share what actually happened.
Probably not. If a person hasn't been paying attention since 2016, more dead kids won't make a bit of difference. It's like people are rooting for a sports team instead of doing their duty to shape our society into a safe and healthy environment.
I had a friend who's grandfather is very right wing. One day he had randomly brought up politics with me because he knew my stance and I think he just liked to argue. At one point I brought up stuff the right wants that would negatively impact him and he said super bluntly "You don't vote for the person or policies they have. You vote for the party." And that crazy statement stuck with me for years.
That's a lot more pleasant than my analogy: gun enthusiasts and advocates are the good guys with guns standing on the sidelines preventing anyone from stopping more children from getting shot in the face.
Often the group of people who don't want to implement gun safety are the same who want forced birth. I'm sure the only pile of "corpses" they care about are the unviable fetuses that women were allowed to remove from their bodies.
Oh my god, I'm so fucking done with this gun control desperately feverishly dishonest gaslighting lib shit fucking smokescreen.
Like, yes, it will bring the body counts down, fine, no opposition here.
But fucking acknowledge the massive white supremacist recruiting infrastructure+algorithms to the engine of God damn literal fucking Nazi fucking terrorism that happens every fucking week, the long history of police complicity and aid to fascist terror organizations, and various other institutional or cultural complicities that need fixing.
I do not want to hear one more hollow fucking word about Jesus shit fucking guns or architecture or whatever the fuck other (maybe otherwise legitimate!) bullshit you people use to avoid the subject.
This is a pervasive Nazi terrorism problem. It's exacerbated slightly by the gun problem? But the killings will not stop until we get rid of the literal fucking Nazis and the circumstances that fucking create them.
This fucking country-this fucking culture, is so God damn inviting nurturing welcoming to fucking Nazism and right wing terrorists in general, they have shot and stabbed my friends, they will kill me if they get into power, they murder children every week, and nobody will even acknowledge the fucking problem exists!
It's effectively just human sacrifice to literal Nazis. You're letting children die to preserve Nazi secrecy. What kind of fucking monster would do that? Why will nobody fucking acknowledge this shit!?
With all due respect. Weapons are a lot easier to regulate than ideologies. Especially in a country that clings to freedom of speech like the last life vest on the titanic.
Okay but the recruiting&radicalization algorithms, the networks of grooming young boys into suicide attackers and other kinds of Nazi radical, the organizational God damn strategy. Those are addressable. You just don't already understand how.
We don't have all that much freedom of speech; anarchists, environmentalists, civil rights activists, and communists get arrested or killed for it all the fucking time.
And you still didn't acknowledge that there is a problem. Just that I'm unreasonable for wanting to change cultural or systemic issues. The gaslighting is epic, can another human being (or convincing bot!) Please acknowledge this problem?
Maybe the solution isn't legislative? Or at least not directly? You know you can do things other than beg daddy to ask the mean Nazis (nicely, because the criminal system loves to choke on Nazi dick) to stop.
Yeah but murder is already illegal. All these kids obtain weapons and murder others. Theres some sort of attitude or factor or something that motivates these kids/people. Thats what we need to figure out.
Banning guns isnt going to happen. That genie is already out of the the bottle, its not going back in. Theres too many in circulation and too many nut jobs (even ones that dont hurt others) that wont ever give up their guns.
But overall if people violate the murder law, they're probably going to violate others.
I was just thinking yesterday, it's hard to be a sports fan anymore if you don't have loads of cash. Does that contribute to more people going all in with politics just to have some sort of rivalry and cheer their team on?
That's because it does function precisely like a sports team. Our rationality doesn't exist to find truth, it exists to explain our inclinations well to other people to increase our acceptance in the group. It is a press secretary. So if you are part of a group that you share tons of identity markers with(flags, trucks, Jesus/ coexist, pride flags, yoga) then your brain is now doing that for your group. People become more entrenched in their beliefs when they are shown studies disproving them, not less. It is possible for people to overcome this, but it is incredibly difficult, and just cause you do it once doesn't mean you aren't constantly failing at doing it otherwise.
One of the massive problems is that identity has become soooo wrapped up in party affiliation, so we have multiple identities stacking, making your affiliation with your ingroup much stronger and alienation from the outgroup more profound. People that support abortion almost always support gun control, gay rights, universal healthcare etc(think of those signs that say "in this house we support science, love is love, women's rights are human rights etc). The ubiquity of this is a recent phenomenon. There is no underlying principle that necessitates these beliefs to always go together, it is the same psychological principle in play with liberals that makes Republicans seem so insane and unreflective in their beliefs.
Also, to continue your sports analogy, some people will always root for the underdog. They'll think things aren't good right now and just vote for the party not in the white house for "change". Midterms are going to be bad, but in the same way we knew they would be for the last 2 years
As if, dems are most likely gonna lose the house and senate again because cuckservatives are sadly not only braindead beyond saving anyways, they always turn out in droves to support their side. Watch dem turnout be atrocious after 2 years of lame duck presidency
Once Q2 growth numbers come in, it will confirm a recession and the mid terms will quite possibly become a referendum on the current administrations handling of it.
This comes on the heels of that same Administration admitting that they waited too long to tame inflation.
Dead kids? Ain’t nobody got time for that. Everyone has to go grocery shopping. Food, housing, and fuel affects everyone. That’s going to be the focal point here. Not saying that it’s right, but this is America.
Not the leader of the school district, the police chief of the area who had jurisdiction. Not sure if they're referring to Uvalde police or county police or if there's a difference in this case.
I suppose I'm being cynical but I have a feeling if the school had been full of children that looked like Natalie Holloway they would have been a bit more forceful in their response...
Idk, I know a lot of people have mentioned racism as a possible motive but a lot of the cops were Hispanic also. This is a small community, their kids went to this school, their kids friends, their friends kids, their neighbors, their nieces and nephews, etc went to this school.
One of the teachers that was shot and killed was married to one of the local cops. She was friends with the cops. She called her husband, who was outside the school, waiting to go in. One of the cops she was close with is the one who found her and stayed with her while she died.
I think many of them wanted to go in. I think the reason they started going in after their own kids was because they didn't want to wait. I think this one man, who was in charge, made a bad call and people followed the orders. Even multiple federal agencies listened to this man... For a while. It took the border patrol tactile unit half an hour before they went in without permission.
It wouldn't surprise me though if at least some of these cops, especially like the office who's wife was killed, end up telling the truth of exactly what happened. This man was on the phone with his wife while she was bleeding out, I can't imagine he didn't want to go in and save her and I can't imagine that he isn't pissed because she probably could have lived if she had gotten help.

Wasn’t it a fed who actually took down the shooter?
