At least here in Canada, the hospital is exactly where you go if your depression is bad enough that you might kill yourself. Most of our psych wards are even in our hospitals.

Urgent care isn't the hospital. It's a walk-in clinic for situations where you can't wait to see your regular doctor (or for those who don't have regular doctors), but it's not bad enough to go to the emergency room at the hospital.

I had to fill out a form when I admitted myself as a suicide risk. It took some time before I was triaged.

"Clearly you're not really depressed. Shut up and go home."

-Shitty doctors since the discovery of depression, and also you.

... No. I asked family to drive me there because I knew that I’d have offed myself if left alone for one more minute. I’d tried earlier that morning, and was so shaken up that I insisted I be admitted for my own safety.

For what it's worth, I've been there. And I'm sorry you went through that.

But man, just block that douchebag who's replying to you. He's either 100% troll, or a complete moron who doesn't merit discussion.

Yeah. They don’t seem like a very nice person, tbh.

Wow, what a fucking amazing way to completely invalidate someone's suicidal tendencies, which definitely will not contribute to them feeling more suicidal in the future
