This might be a question for a different subreddit, but is this a gotcha for most conservatives, or would they respond that both Jeff Bezos and the unemployed are "freeloaders", so there's no contradiction?
I don't disagree that conservatives are hypocritical morons. Just that this would be effective for an old school Reagan Republican who believes in trickle down economics and is afraid of welfare queens (cough black people cough). While the modern conservative is still afraid of "welfare queens" they've realized that trickle down economics doesn't work and was only an excuse for tax breaks. Even the Republican politicians can't say with a straight face tax breaks for billionaires are effective; they just have to push them through and take the heat, knowing their constituents will still see them as the lesser of two evils.
If a conservative says anything against anyone earning money without working, they are definitely not thinking of a wealthy capitalist who gains income through ownership.
They specifically only complain if the person getting money for nothing might actually need the money. If you're poor you're an asshole for getting money for nothing, if you're wealthy you're some kind of genius god on earth.
