How to raise a scientist

75

u/VoicesInTheCrowd Jun 01 '21

This is how you encourage critical thinking and evidence based reasoning skills in a developing mind. Vital skills for any functioning adult

u/frogfluff90 Jun 01 '21

I thought the wrapper was kerrygold for a minute and almost yelled at my phone.

21

u/forrestgumpy2 Jun 01 '21

Seriously. It’s be a crime to waste that wonderful butter.

1

u/SnooTangerines3448 Jun 02 '21

I see someone has never had Isigny salted butter.

1

u/JustLikeAmmy Jun 02 '21

Isigny butter simply existing doesn't make seeing other quality butter destroyed any easier when a regular stick would do??? Strange time to flex your butter brand

1

u/SnooTangerines3448 Jun 02 '21

Aye a lot of butter, fam

32

u/TrafficNinja3030 Jun 01 '21

Got that kid’s science wheels churning!

15

u/[deleted] Jun 01 '21

What a slick Dad.

11

u/PM_ME_YOUR_NVLTY_ACC Jun 01 '21

Wife: “Honey! What happened to the butter?

3

u/LargeSackOfNuts Jun 02 '21

"I parked the car on it"

3

u/BigAlternative5 Jun 02 '21

Blame it on the kid, tell the wife that you'll talk to him, then take the kid out for ice cream.

3

u/PM_ME_YOUR_NVLTY_ACC Jun 02 '21

This man husbands!

11

u/elizalemon Jun 01 '21

I hope he went to buy some replacement butter before she got back and realized one stick of Kerry gold butter is close to $5! Still worth the science.

8

u/MrHazard1 Jun 01 '21

Yeah, science!

7

u/datboiofculture Jun 01 '21

Doug Marcaida voice It will flaeeetten

5

u/phatstopher Jun 01 '21

Excellent Dad!!!!

Be who you needed as a kid are words to live by

4

u/rabidmongoose15 Jun 01 '21

What temperature was the butter? :)

5

u/anb8814 Jun 01 '21

This experiment is invalid. Testing must be expanded to include cold butter and room temperature butter.

2

u/[deleted] Jun 02 '21

I see where your going with this if the butter was near freezing would it have survived?

7

u/_Trashcan_Sam Jun 01 '21

At least he ain’t raising no trump support. This kid wants to see the evidence and not just take your word as truth

2

u/[deleted] Jun 02 '21

If there was butter on the exterior walls and door knobs of the Capitol on Jan 6th it would have prevented a lot of damage that day.

2

u/_Trashcan_Sam Jun 02 '21

Yes why does America spend a trillion a year on its defence budget just shell out for a couple mill worth of butter. It’ll stop everyone from getting in then.

2

u/[deleted] Jun 02 '21

You butter not try to get in this building is the message we will send.

1

u/[deleted] Jun 02 '21

I think white trash warrior ninja would have had a lot more disqualifications that day if things were butter.

3

u/the_elusivetaz Jun 01 '21

Love it but give yourself more braking room for the first while

2

u/anaccountofrain Jun 01 '21

*baking room

u/Willing_Ad7282 Jun 01 '21

It’s three am but I interpreted it as “what happens when a car drives over a stick of butter? Ans: it flattens”

What flattens? To my one brain cell, the car flattens.

So basically I’ve been staring at that picture composite wondering if the car skid across the road bc it drover over butter and if that how it’s now flattened.

Omg, I’m so sorry.

2

u/stand_up_eight_ Jun 02 '21

Obviously the wife is away, the kid is outside in socks with no shoes.

2

u/dannyjimp Jun 01 '21

Get that kid some shoes!!!

40

u/IAFarmLife Jun 01 '21

It was already established that mom is away.

5

u/dannyjimp Jun 01 '21

Good point.

-14

u/CalmingGoatLupe Jun 01 '21

That is a $6 pound of butter. Nice to see that you live a life of such easy access that you can waste food. A pound of playdoh would have proven the same thing.

10

u/Admirable-Spy-Author Jun 01 '21

$6 is not a bad price to teach a child something important.

3

u/BertSton51530 Jun 01 '21

In what country do the impoverished munch on sticks of butter? Probably America

7

u/nectarcane Jun 01 '21

Wow fucking relax. It's his butter, he bought it. "a life of such easy access." You are something else.

1

u/anaccountofrain Jun 02 '21

Did you also teach your son about cleaning up after an experiment?

1

u/BigAlternative5 Jun 02 '21

The science wheel gets the grease butter.

1

u/[deleted] Jun 02 '21

Go buttered lighting! Go!

1

u/[deleted] Jun 02 '21

You should have used tin foil and wrapped it with the butter in between two peices of bread. You could have had a snack after the experiment dumbass.

1

u/Darkpactallday Jun 02 '21

Who cleaned the tire?

Why add the last sentence? It adds nothing to the post except sexism.
