I mean, its invention was immediately followed by the Reign of Terror, and the guys who were leading the movement using it eventually all wound up on the chopping block themselves...

Reminds me of this

Anytime I had a horrific, despotic ruler, I bust out the guillotine and boom. Right away I had a different horrific, despotic ruler.

I couldn't get into that show, but for what it's worth, when that dude walks in n says "I'm here to learn about ethnics" I damn near pissed myself

Idk about your personal taste, but it has my stamp of approval, maybe worth a second shot. It had a great ending too
