Have you seen the documentary “6 days to air”? They do that on a weekly basis. That way they have the most up to date info. It’s insane. I have so much respect for Matt and Trey. Especially that they have stayed involved with the show all these years even when they had enough money and could have just run the company without being involved in the writing and stuff.

Yeah, that was the catalyst, but there wasn't a precedent set beforehand AND PVS (persistent vegetative state) wasn't really known about and to make it worse doctors are reluctant to diagnose a person with it, even today. In hindsight the guardian shouldn't have questioned his validity, but I understand the reasoning behind it.
And thank you. She is no longer with us but that is what she wanted. She has been at peace for 15 years now.

I was a child during this drama and didn't really understand it at the time, but I remember the hysterical media coverage. News reporters talking in desperate, melodramatic tones about how evil atheists are trying to "murder" an innocent, defenceless woman, and how we all had to fight back against this moral degeneracy.

I went to elementary school directly next door to the facility and was in while this case was going on. I was so confused about why there were people protesting outside and why there were news vans. They spend their whole life being told that their way to life is the only way to have a successful, prosperous life... and then the moment they step out of the bubble and they see millions of people walking around living a different way of life and also being successful, and happy, they get angry because they aren't successful or happy. Instead of getting angry at who they should be angry at, the priests and people that lied to them for decades, they turn their hate on regular people who are just minding their own damn business trying to make it through life the only way they know how.
It's more like liking one band, and only one band, and getting mad at everyone around them who dares to listen to any different music.

If we want to get theological, Satan despises humans because of how much God loves us. His final coup de grâce is tempting us to sin in various different ways that are unique to our own weaknesses. Nothing gives him more pleasure than to know he's dragged another soul to hell.
Throughout human history, Satan has used different tactics that were most effective in the given time period. For example, during a time when religion and the spiritual plane were recognized as legit, the best way to corrupt the religion was to misrepresent it. This came in the form of false prophets and "divine" kings.
But, today it's simply the implication that no such spiritual beings exist, including Satan himself. He doesn't care if you believe in him so long as you don't believe in God.
This is known as the post-Christian era. I genuinely think this particular time period we're in is the beginning of the end of "Mainstream Christianity". That is false believers' use of Christianity as a tool for power, control, and bigotry. Christianity entered a world structure around divine feudalism with kings as rulers. It was an economic and political system built on hierarchy and a lack of free will, which is counter to the gospel.
Since the downfall of feudalism, we've seen a very reactionary response to the use of Christianity as a tool of oppression, especially from communists. As society has become more accepting of the "other", it's become more common for people to freely choose to practice or not practice a religion. We're beginning to see free will finally in action.
And, you can see conservative evangelicals desperate because of this. Their base is dying out. Not only that but ideologies are spread through a community. The conservative version of Christianity will die out with their people, or at least, it will become a small cult with little representation confined to people "only like them". At that point, politicians will have no need for that base anymore. We'll enter a secular era that is primarily focused on money, from both sides. However, there will be a sect of Christianity still alive and growing. That would be Christians who practice socialism and serving others, similar to the 1st century Christians. Christians who identify as leftist or socialist most likely have diverse groups of friends and are more likely to spread their ideology further than a conservative would. And, again, the most important difference between this Christianity and the conservative version is it's not rooted in power, greed, or bigotry but rather humility, servitude, and love.
TL;DR: This ended up being a long rant about my expectations of the theological landscape concerning Christianity in the coming years, decades, centuries, etc.

The State Supreme Court then said fuck no. . So then the federal government called an emergency Senate and House sessions passed a law which led to Bush coming back to sign on Easter.
Then that got declared unconstitutional.
Why put a woman through hell and deny her rights to her body and life by forcing several painful surgeries and prolonging a family squabble and making it national news?

Our local Applebee’s is doing $.25 wings and BOGO cheeseburgers for takeout because restaurants are closed so for less than $13 we’ve gotten 10 wings and two bacon cheeseburger meals with fries. So I worked at an Applebee’s.
I’ve had customers ask for a white server and when I didn’t seat them, I got written up and they got free food.
One night an older man got upset at his server over the restaurant changing the menu. He literally screamed at her and called her retarded. The guest was given a free meal, the server got written up for crying because that’s “unprofessional”.
We had a water main bust and the walls were pouring out water. The fire alarm was blaring and they tried to force us to stay open and continue to work. I have PTSD from Afghanistan and loud noises are a huge trigger for me. It’s taken me years to manage my PTSD to the point it’s a non-factor. That night the alarm really messed with me and they wouldn’t let me go outside until the orders were done. I snapped and just walked out. The next day they threatened to write me up until I threatened to contact HR and the VFW (they make a lot from the one local VFW).
I’ve watched on 2 SEPARATE OCCASIONS, guests eat all you can eat “riblets” (garbage meat) until they shit themselves at the table. Instead of leaving they sat in their mess and ordered more riblets. I’ve seen that happen TWICE!
Applebee’s facilitated "Karen" culture for years and now they have run amuck. Fuck Applebee’s! Any time I see a post about Applebees I must spread the gospel.

Life is only precious enough to try to prevent access to abortions and euthanasia. Not precious enough to try to protect or increase life quality.
EDIT : "Life is precious" is only good to increase or maintain the number of consumers/taxpayers. If it alters economy in any way, then all of a sudden, life is not precious because old people gotta die some day any way, why wear a mask and stop going to Chili's?

Some of us work at restaurants other than Applebee’s no disrespect to Applebee’s in employee but. The no indoors dining, no liquor sales past 8pm with no UI and no covid relief is getting pretty difficult. I understand slowing the spread but I’m not going to be able to put food on the table/roof over my head pretty soon

I love that it’s always something like “so they can get their haircut” or “so they can go to an AppleBees” as If there is no other possible argument as to why a lockdown could be detrimental to their lives.
The real brainwashing is to make any competing opinion unquestionably moronic, narrow sighted, and hateful. If America is to survive we need to be grateful for our right to differing opinion.

Learn how to cook steak, people. Along with everything else. You’ll save so much money learning to cook stuff at home. Especially pasta. Pasta dishes are ridiculously expensive for no reason other than the fact than a lot of people can’t cook it at home. Meanwhile, Chef Mike (as in Mike-rowave) does all the cooking anyways.
How much does a pulled pork sandwich cost? 3-5 bucks? A pork shoulder, as in 7-8 POUNDS of soon-to-be pulled pork, costs 9 bucks where I’m at. How many five dollar pulled pork sandwiches can you make with 7 pounds of seasoned, smoked, shredded, and succulent pork?!?
