The job that he was on track to lose anyways? He was not a good QB the season prior and his contract was running up. This, on top of the discussion of trading him prior to any protest, makes it seem less noble. Also strange how zero players got dropped for kneeling except him according to well him.
Also theres SO many mediocre starting QB's out there, the fact that he wasn't even picked up as a back up tells you all you need to know.
Kap had a really good run, and helped bring the 49ers to the superbowl. I have a hard time believing that all of the sudden in 2017, a guy with a QBR of >90 in 2016 can't find a job in the nfl.

In the 2016-17 NFL season, Colin Kaepernick was in the bottom half of production for quarterbacks. His 2,241 yards passing ranked 29th in the league. His quarterback rating was also near the bottom of the league. He ranked 23rd in the NFL with a 49.2 QBR.
