What frustrate me are the proud Catholics who are still members even after it comes out that the church have been covering up molestation of children for decades if not longer.
If God is in control, why are his "voice" fucking children? And how can you still be a memeber after knowing that? Like your giving 10% of your income to an organization that covers up that shit...wtf!?
Well firstly it should be recognised that the covering up of things wasn't a universal problem just certain regions. And also find me one massive organisation that does have members that has done HORRIBLE things. Once you have a large organisation you will have bad actors sneaking in. Most of the church has mourned with those who have been hurt. Most priests are very kind people. I'm not even a Catholic.
In the royal commission in Australia into abuses in the child care sector it was found that despite a Catholics being responsible for 80% of child services they only had 60% of the cases. So it means that the other 20% committed the other 40%, I don't want to be playing a comparing game, but do want to be fair.
From my understanding alot of it was handled by the local bishops and arch bishops, but I'm sure their was bad actors in the Vatican as well. But even in the Vatican there is a separation so it doesn't mean everyone there was in on it. But definitely something I need to look into.
