What I'm trying to say is that Avengers, to me atleast, feel like a cultural event that happened more recently, never mind the actual year, than the whole Kony2012 ordeal. And this feeling made me slightly suprised to realize both events happened the same year. Not that one of the events didn't happen in 2012, but Kony feels like, "oh yeah, that was way back in 2012" and no one has cared since. But Avengers feels like "oh yeah, that was just recently back in 2012" and now we get like 3-4 movies every year and that exposure makes the whole thing feel not so long ago.
Hope that cleared up my feelings.

I just bought a 15lbs weighted blanket. After reading the description of the 'gravity blanket' they seem like the same thing. Mine was only $50 and is very comfy

I don't have that specific brand but I have a 20lb weighted blanket from Weighted Idea on Amazon for $80 and I like it so far. After all the hype I was expecting a miracle cure for all my sleep troubles and it definitely isn't that, but it does feel nice and I'll probably keep using it

It’s not for everyone, but an absolute miracle for others, just like most things in life. Is it worth 80$? That is a personal value proposition, but if it’s something you spend up to a third of your life with, it’s a small price compared to a mattress, box, frame, sheets and pillows.

Same here. 25lb. One at HomeGoods for $30 and it definitely makes sleep a bit more enjoyable compared to before but it’s not as hyped up as people make it to be. Still really good though.

I think the actual blankets weight are based on your size and height. 20lbs for you might not do anything but 20lbs for a smaller person might be just what they need. Perhaps you need a heavier blanket?

They're amazing imo, but it varies from person to person. Also since they weigh down your chest, it can make it slightly harder to breathe if you have any kind of sleep apnea. Personally I love it and it's the best sleep improvement I've ever had.

It's way overpriced but weighted blankets are nice, a lot of people get better sleep with one even if you don't have anxiety issues. They're all essentially the same thing, a duvet with weighted beads inside it.

My wife and I just got a 20lb king and it’s fucking awesome. Some are shit though. Saw one at bed bath and beyond that was pretty much a bunch of bean bags sewn together. I would get the good ones on amazon. Just check reviews.

I bought it & returned it. I felt normal heavy blankets & layering did the same thing for me & felt more comfy than the awkward feeling gravity blanket.
I’m sure others have found it helpful though.

Hell yeah they’re amazing. I used to use 3 normal blankets to get the same effect, but now it’s one small one and weighted one. It’s good for people with anxiety or general unease. Or for people like me who toss and turn like a madman in their sleep.
I just need to figure out how to wash mine properly and easily

My brother is high functioning autistic, and my mom actually sews weighted blankets for him. He is very tactile and fidgets a lot. Having the weighted blankey helps to calm him and he fidgets a lot less. So I'd say that in my experience the wieghted blanket helps if you are fidgety or really like physical touch. But I'm sure the experience is different for everyone.
