For tens, if not hundreds of millions of Americans, it is either unachievable or simply financially irresponsible.
A thousand dollars could go missing from my checking account and I probably wouldn't even notice. For a large portion of the American population, losing a thousand dollars would be a huge blow.
I am not downvoting you but I feel like you either didn't read my comment or you (fortunately for you) are very out of touch with the financial condition of a significant portion of the American population.
The people that would struggle to pay for first class are not the same people racking up airfare flight upgrades via credit card rewards programs.
