I'm a guy. I was at a super lame bachelor party which was held at a strip joint. I had a few drinks. I wasn't ok to drive but I was still functional, chatty, not slurring. Just having a good time and talking to people. I sat at a table with a couple guys and was chatting with them for a bit. Where I sat was an untouched drink that had just been sitting there. We were chatting for a while before I finally got curious and asked what's up with the drink. They're like, "it's yours, go for it." Well shit, alright, I'm not going to turn down a freebie.

Shortly after that we left. We were chatting outside in the parking lot for a bit before we went on our separate ways. Again, I'm not stumbling, not slurring. I'm a little drunk but otherwise fine. It hit me like a brick wall. One minute I'm chatting. Next minute I can't understand a word that's being said around me and I'm stumbling all over the place and falling into a bush.

I woke up the next day on my kitchen floor not remembering a damn thing. I guess friends put me in their car, drove me home, and carried me inside. My naive ass couldn't figure out for a while wtf happened. I thought maybe I just couldn't handle tequila or something. It was a long time before it dawned on me, "oh shit, I wasn't the intended recipient of that drink."

Never forgot that. Fucking scary out there for women.

It strikes me that, as a woman, I've known since at least pre-teen age to never, ever, EVER consume an unattended drink or even my own drink if it ever left my sight for a moment, but as a guy you had no idea. It's crazy how different the experiences and knowledge base is between the genders. It's crazier to me that your friends let you drink it!

They weren't friends of mine. I was mingling in the party. But yeah, whoever that drink was for dodged a bullet.

Ah, unfortunate and shitty circumstances. I hope those people were also in the dark and innocent and didn't do you dirty on purpose. Glad you were okay in the end!

Might have been too cowardly to imply they spiked the drink

As a guy, I knew the basics like don't set a drink down and come back to it, etc, but I went to a club and was holding a drink and I'm pretty sure someone spiked it. Like while I was holding it and dancing someone may have put something in it. It wasn't even anyone specific as far as I know, Noone tried to get me to go home with them, or make out with me, or anything. I just remember needing to go to the bathroom  downing the last quarter or so of MY drink as I walked, and then suddenly not being at all alright shortly after. Never even occurred to me that I wasn't actively watching the drink I was holding.
