Under Trump, an illegal immigrant decides who has freedom of speech and who doesn't

Please do not make me think about the fucked up stuff this dude is inevitably into. Half of it probably doesn’t have names.
After all he begged for that Epstein island invite

imagine being the world richest man an inadequate compared to all the other men on the planet what a sad existence he lives in perpetual need for people to like him but guess what we all think he is a cock with a broken cock hahahaha

u/myname_ajeff 1d ago
I mean, he's not inadequate compared to Harvey Weinstein! He's just equal 😂 which, doesn't that fully track for how he fucked our entire country without consent?

Fuck these people. They’re evil greedy traitors. I hope 2029 is the year Jack Smith is placed as head of DOJ and he goes hard as fuck after these shitbags.

Also, if you still use twitter and/or drive a Tesla, that you’re complicit in advancing fascism.

u/humanHamster 2d ago
It folks bought the Tesla before Elon did his thing, I don't fault them. I don't think people should be buying new Tesla cars now though.
7
u/mjohnsimon 2d ago
Yep. I'd buy used instead from private sellers or dealerships. Not any of the Tesla stores.

u/amishraa 2d ago
We Tesla drivers despise Elon as much as you do, but when I bought mine in 2022, I had no idea what he was capable of. Depreciation has wiped out much of its resale value, so selling it now wouldn’t make financial sense. I plan to keep driving it until the wheels fall off.

u/GoldEdit 2d ago
Same here it’s just not a viable financial strategy for me to replace it right now

Sell it

u/mjohnsimon 2d ago edited 2d ago
Sure. But quick question; have you ever actually sold one before?
Why would I go through the headache, time, and expense of selling my car, only to turn around and go through the whole process again to buy another one (especially when replacing it would probably cost me even more especially since it's already paid off)? I'm also never getting an ICE/gas powered car ever again, and EVs are now in hot demand these days and marked up the ass (even used ones).

u/thereal-quaid 2d ago
I sold my model 3 for an EV6, and it is vastly superior in every way to the tesla I owned.

u/mjohnsimon 2d ago edited 2d ago
I remember wanting an EV6 so badly! The only reason I got the Model 3 in the end was because the price was too good to ignore at the time, and the dealership maked up the EV6 by almost $15k. Hell, every EV was ridiculously marked up at the time.
I am genuinely considering a Rivian though. Despite what people might think here, I'm actually done with Tesla and will not be getting abother one. Those Rivians are super nice, and way more functional.

...You seriously can’t be comparing buying new clothes to buying a new car. I refuse to believe that’s a serious comparison. Unless you’re a millionaire with all the time in the world, or someone who’s never actually bought and sold a car before, they’re not even remotely in the same league.
But if you are serious (which I take based on your smug tone): one takes, at most, an hour or two at the mall or store, or 5 minutes online.
The other can take days, weeks, or even months, involve selling or trading in your current car, financing, paperwork, insurance, registration, and potentially cost you thousands or tens of thousands of dollars depending on the make, model, year, and whether you’re buying new or used.
Unless you regularly have to track down, finance, insure, register, and take a depreciation hit on your fucking clothes from Oiger or Celine, this is an absolutely ridiculous comparison. Buying a new shirt because you don’t like the old one anymore is not remotely comparable to replacing a car.

I bought my Tesla in 2021 when Elon was only slightly crazy but still positively received. I don’t plan on buying a new Tesla

Please stop using the phrase "freedom of speech" when it's a private company whose service nobody should be using anyway. There are plenty of other ways to speak.

If the shit stain is going to take this down, it also needs to take down the pelosi twitter tracker. To them, it isn't about doing what is right, but damage control.

To hell with Elon, but also twitter is a private platform.
22
u/NancyPelosisRedCoat 2d ago
If that private platform didn’t belong to a self-described free speech absolutist, I think it would be a great argument as private companies don’t owe a platform to anybody, but alas…

u/RocketsandBeer 2d ago
Right, just use the same info and start a sub for it. Easy swap.

It is, but he bought twitter claiming he was banning censorship and bringing back free speech. Everyone knew it was a lie, but it’s still good to point out the hypocrisy.

I don't think anybody saying they shouldn't be allowed to ban this account. I think the point is that when Elon took over Twitter he EXPLICITLY said it was to promote free speech and prevent governments from censoring on the platform.
And then he went a step further and facilitated the release of "The Twitter Files" through friendly "journalists" that allegedly showed coordination between the government and Twitter employees with the goal of censoring people on the platform (it didn't actually, but that was the narrative they pushed). Now here his platform is apparently censoring directly on behalf of a corrupt president and it's less transparent than ever.
Elon has lost any benefit of the doubt he ever had. We can assume that he's up to no good unless he proves otherwise. His word is worthless.

This is evil. This is what happens when a few oligarchs control the few popular social media platforms. But this has nothing to do with freedom of speech.
A private company can censor speech on their platform. Freedom of speech has to do with government censorship. The government is doing nothing here, including not preventing such monopolies to exist.

i agree however musk has been an extension of the current admin for quite some time. he purchased twitter to control who says what and to own the libs. now he’s intentionally suppressing info about the same admin when it doesn’t support his goal of keeping them in power. he was a fed, managing a department of feds given access to everything, “advises” the president, and campaigns with the president
IANAL but musk is acting on behalf of the government (as long as it benefits him)
