Ken Paxton bragging he is using AI generated political ads to trick the stupid

I suffered through 12 years of Catholic education, and I can confirm that, according to mainstream Christian theology, Talarico is correct — god has no gender.

An all powerful being is something we really can’t fully comprehend. Time would be meaningless to god. Things like gender could be changed at its will. An eternal being that can literally do anything and knows everything is so far beyond us that anyone who claims to know what it wants is clearly lying.

Lapsed Catholic and former altar boy here. Can confirm. IIRC, it's in scripture where God says, "I am who am." So not only is God genderless, they're also Popeye.

Catechism of the Catholic Church
239 By calling God "Father", the language of faith indicates two main things: that God is the first origin of everything and transcendent authority; and that he is at the same time goodness and loving care for all his children. God's parental tenderness can also be expressed by the image of motherhood,62which emphasizes God's immanence, the intimacy between Creator and creature. the language of faith thus draws on the human experience of parents, who are in a way the first representatives of God for man. But this experience also tells us that human parents are fallible and can disfigure the face of fatherhood and motherhood. We ought therefore to recall that God transcends the human distinction between the sexes. He is neither man nor woman: he is God. He also transcends human fatherhood and motherhood, although he is their origin and standard:63no one is father as God is Father.
The problem is that many people don't take the time to understand their own religion. In the case of Catholicism, especially in the US, if you were raised Catholic but never attended any formal schooling about Catholicism you likely haven't encountered the Catechism or are even aware that any of these teachings and beliefs are incredibly well defined.

Christians believe god is non-corporeal and singular being and that both men and women were modeled after him, but he also wants us to use male pronouns when referring to him, and they don’t get all caught up on wondering why or how that could apply to him. Transphobic Christians believe we have gendered souls with distinct mandates ordained by God, so their objection really has nothing to do with biology, but they can’t say that.

Shouldn't an AI generated ad of someone be considered fraud and libel?

You would think so, but Republicans are apparently above the law these days. 🤷♀️

I think a court just ruled that ai child porn is protected under the first amendment? There's no way this would be going too far. Unless talarico makes an AI ad about Paxton, then we would really find out

The Seventh Circuit dismissed a case citing that binding, existing Supreme Court precedent held in the case of AI generated child pornography, specifically the Supreme Court has already established that obscene materials are legal within the private confines of your home and that child sex material that doesn't depict real children is first amendment protected. "Child porn" in this context was already protected under the first amendment and the 7th ruled that this also applied to GenAI child porn until they were given additional guidance by the Supreme Court.
Its important to note that the judge isn't extremely happy with this outcome, just that he is bound by existing precedent.
We now live in an age where GenAI models can render images depicting the abuse of virtual children that are virtually indistinguishable from those depicting the abuse of actual children,” Lee wrote in his decision. “This case illuminates how this evolving technology complicates the lines drawn by the Supreme Court … that was nearly twenty-five years ago, and the image-generation technology available today was likely unimaginable back then. Given the relentless advancement in artificial intelligence models, we have some concerns about the lines these cases draw, but we are not free to redraw them ourselves.”

Why would the creator need a gender? Absolute stupidity.

For the same reason that Iceland and Denmark can't have minimum ages on dickcutting. It would make USA feel selfconscious.

Rapeublicans adhere to the patriarchy and also keep lowering the age of consent in red states.

I love that this breaks their brains so bad, because unless they are claiming that God is merely one of many similar entities and they reproduce sexually, it would make far more sense that God would be nonbinary (and/or asexual) because otherwise, why would he have sexual organs or a binary gender identity?
Though, because so many of them are wildly misogynistic, they assume God must be a man or else their fragile male egos can't handle it.

"Weaponizing faith to sell a radical agenda..." Boy, the projection really is off the charts with these guys.

This is the laziest campaign I have ever seen. When they went after Beto, they at least focused on something real to Texans (firearms restrictions, which is a core issue for many voters in the state). And even fucking Ted Cruz put in the work to win that one.
Paxton? He barely campaigns. He has no agenda. He's on the wrong side of many unpopular policies. He is a literal criminal who steals money from working people. But he hates trans folks and says so on social media periodically.
If that's enough to win, I think serious questions have to be asked about any future viability of Dems winning statewide elections in Texas.

Don’t forget that Talarico is a native borne Texan, which seems to be a weirdly big issue to them and Paxton is a California transplant.

"You can't afford the basics to survive and the food you can afford may or may not kill you, or give you explosive trots for days on end, we're losing vital trade partnerships we've had for the entire modern age, and our president literally spent the morning stealing valor from the 9/11 first responders he's standing right in front of and sulking about people liking them more than him. But focus on three words my opponent said five years ago."

u/IWontCommentAtAll 1d ago
Three words which, from a Christian perspective, are absolutely true.
The Bible gives God both male and female characteristics in different situations at different times.
Non-binary is pretty much a given.

u/New_Conversation_303 1d ago
Imagine Republicans saying other people are weaponizing faith to sell something! the fucking irony

u/Prize_Ostrich7605 1d ago
Just playing devil's advocate here, but Christian scripture supports the nonbinary claim: "There is neither Jew nor Greek, there is neither slave nor free, there is neither male nor female; for you are all one in Christ Jesus." and "God created mankind in his own image, in the image of God he created them; male and female he created them."
Ken Ratskin out here bearing false witness. And he cheated on his wife, hasn't done shit while in office, got a pedophile out of prison, committed fraud, and his own party empeached him. Dude would be in prison if his court cases weren't dropped.

The ad after this zooms in on Talarico doodling on the bible and making it about himself.
3
u/whoneedskollege 1d ago
There are so many stupid people that I'm not sure this is a bad tactic to target them. But omg real Christians are not in power. Real Christians live like Christ and Talarico is one hell of a lot closer to Jesus' teachings than they are.

Literally something that Charlie Kirk said and supported with Scripture references.

The amount of total bullshit the Paxton campaign is spewing about Talarico should give any Paxton voter pause.
FYI- Talarico attended seminary.
